Recently, D'Angelo and Angie Stone's son, Michael Archer Jr, talked about the tough phase that he has been navigating with the passing of both of his parents within a span of only seven months.

D'Angelo and Angie Stone's son, Michael Archer Jr, issued a statement to PEOPLE, following the death of his father. He expressed his gratitude to those who stayed beside them in this tough phase of their lives. He further asked for privacy, while mentioning that it'll not be easy for him, as just within seven months, he lost both of his parents, and it's understandable exactly what pain Michael is now navigating through. He also mentioned that while this phase is really rough for him, he intends to stand strong, a lesson his parents taught him. He also posted a story on his IG handle, filled with emotional words. Michael Archer Jr said:

"I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers during these very difficult times, as it has been a very rough and sad year for me. I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents taught me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that."

It was only a few months ago that Angie Stone passed away after a massive car crash. It was Michael, who took to his social media handle and paid tribute to his mom. In the emotional post, he said that he just loves his mom, and he is grateful for everything that he has learnt from her. He also hoped to be a good parent to his kids, just as his mom was to him. In the post, Michael wrote:

"Hey mama, I ain’t want nothing, just wanted to say I love you … Im so grateful for the lessons that I learned from you, I hope to one day be as good to my kids as you were to me. I just wanted to you to know that I got it from here , imma be okay… and imma LONG LIVE YOU 4Ever love you mama."

Michael Archer Jr inspired D'Angelo and helped him to be a better man

Michael Archer Jr performs under the name of Swayvo Train, and he was an inspiration for his dad, D'Angelo. Michael once shared a post, where he and Angie Stone were watching D'Angelo's old interviews. In one of his interviews, D'Angelo was asked about the period between his two albums, Brown Sugar and Voodoo. In the interview, D'Angelo acknowledged the inspiration his son provided him. He said that after the birth of Michael, he started writing the album, Voodoo, which is dedicated to his son. He also shared that his son didn't just inspire him to write the album, but also helped him to be a better man and to grow up. D'Angelo shared:

"I had a son. After his birth, I started writing for the album. And this album is dedicated to my son. He inspired me not just to write songs but to be a better man and to grow up. And that’s what the album is about. Music to me is about growth, and I grew a lot."

D'Angelo's daughter, Imani also paid tribute to her dad

D'Angelo and Angie Stone's daughter, Imani also shared a photo of D'Angelo, after the news of his passing broke hearts. In the photo, he was seen playing a guitar while Imani Archer sat beside him. Apart from Michael and Imani, Angie and D'Angelo have another son, Morocco Archer. For the unversed, nothing about the mother of Imani and Morocco is known. Along with the photo, she added three mended heart emoticons. For the unversed, D'Angelo passed away at the age of 51, after battling pancreatic cancer. And it was through his family statements that D'Angelo's passing was confirmed.
