For a few years now, people have become vocal about climate change and how the smoke created from the crackers adds up to the pollution. Celebrities have been raising voices, asking people not to burst crackers and have a green Diwali. Joining the celebrities, Anil Kapoor’s son, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, also tweeted about saying no to crackers and got trolled by the netizens for the same.

As the nation observed the festival of lights, Diwali on November 4, 2021, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor tweeted, saying that bursting crackers is against common sense. He also mentioned that the crackers have scared his pets and his family feels uncomfortable. His tweet can be read as:
“People still bursting firecrackers all over the place.. my pets are scared, it’s uncomfortable for everyone at home and really bad for the environment in more ways than one.. I’ve never been a prisoner to cultural presets for these reasons.. common sense has to prevail sometimes.”
Well, while Harsh Varrdhan was talking sense, some Twitter users decided to troll him by sharing his father, Anil Kapoor’s old picture, bursting crackers as he and his sister, Sonam Kapoor looked at it. “Recently bro… open to change… are you? Yeah didn’t think so.”
When one Twitter user sarcastically said that his cars must be emitting oxygen, which is environment friendly and she is sorry that the Kapoor family must be uncomfortable in their AC home, Harsh Varrdhan replied:
