'Animal' Fame, Triptii Dimri Roped In For Vanga's 'Spirit' After Deepika Was Removed Over Odd Demand

Prabhas starrer Spirit has taken an entirely new turn after Deepika Padukone was reportedly removed from the film. Sandeep Reddy Vanga's collaboration with Deepika was supposed to mark the actress' return to the big screen after giving birth to her beautiful daughter, Dua. However, some of her demands led the director to make the harsh call. Now, reports are rife that the filmmaker has decided to replace the actress with his Animal fame actress, Triptii Dimri.

Triptii Dimri roped in for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit 

It was on May 23, 2025, when Triptii Dimri took to her Instagram handle and shared the big news with her fans. The actress shared a post that confirmed her casting in the film, Spirit. The note featured her name in several different languages, ending with the film's name followed by the director's name, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's name at the bottom. She penned a short note thanking Sandeep for the opportunity. The caption could be read as saying:

"Still sinking in…..So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you, @sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision."

Additionally, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also confirmed the announcement. The filmmaker who previously gave Triptii a break in his film, Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The filmmaker confirmed that the female lead of his upcoming Prabhas starrer will be Triptii Dimri. He was quoted as saying:

"The female lead for my film is now official."

Soon the post was shared on the discussion platform, Reddit and netizens chimed in to share their views. A user penned, "Omg this was unexpected!! Deepika Padukone was dropped from Spirit because of 'unprofessional' demands

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is known for his controversial works including Kabir Singh and Animal, was gearing up for his next big project, Spirit. However, his smooth ride was met with some hurdles after his female lead, Deepika Padukone, was abruptly removed from the film. This decision is being reported to have come after the actress made some really odd demands for the filming. According to multiple reports, Sandeep Reddy Vanga removed Deepika Padukone from the project after persistent clashes with the actress over her demands, which were deemed 'unprofessional' by insiders.

However, the question arises what exactly did the actress ask for? If the reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone requested an 8-hour workday, which reportedly would have translated to approx 6 hours of actual shoot time. She further demanded a hefty remuneration along with a percentage of the film's profits. Some insiders have further claimed that Deepika also refused to deliver her dialogues in Telugu. Neither Deepika nor Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially commented on the exit reports, but the casting update has already created a stir online.
