Anjali Arora rose to fame after her reel went viral on the popular track, Kancha Badam. After this, she even did a reality show, Lock Upp season one, where her romantic camaraderie with Munawar Faruqui gained widespread attention. The diva never misses a chance to drool the hearts of her followers with her charismatic dance moves and expressions. Recently, the actress collected another feather for her hat as she bagged a movie.
All of Anjali’s fans, 'Anjalians' as she likes to call them, were waiting for their icon’s silver screen debut, and now the actress has finally spoken about the same. Anjali has bagged the role of ‘Sita’ in Abhishek Singh’s directorial movie, Shri Ramayan Katha, which will be based on the celebrated Hindu epic, Ramayan. In a conversation with ETimes, Anjali shared that she feels ‘blessed’ to be given the opportunity to play the role, and since last month, she has been prepping for the same.

In a conversation with the ETimes, Anjali shared that her role was finalised last month after many rounds of auditions. She added that the director informed her that many actresses were in the race for the role, but ultimately, they felt that the diva was best suited for it. Shedding light on how she got the role, Anjali added:
“I believe they saw something in me that convinced them that I could do justice to the character. I was finalised last month, and since then I have been watching videos, doing readings and attending workshops. I will give my best to do justice to the character.”
In the same interaction session with ETimes, Anjali added that she knows that her performance will be compared to Sai Pallavi, who is essaying the role of ‘Sita’ in Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial. Both the ladies will be portraying the same character and talking about the same, Anjali added:
“If I am compared to a Bollywood actress, I will be happy.”

As soon as Abhishek Singh announced Anjali as ‘Sita’ in his upcoming project, netizens took to the comment section to express their views on the same. Majority of them are not happy with it, and one wrote, “Ramchandra keh gaye siya se aisa kalyug aayega.” Another user commented, “Disresect to Sita Maa.”
