Senior TV journalist, Anjana Om Kashyap, has been facing public wrath and trolling over a major goof-up when her channel reported a fake health update about Dharmendra. Journalism, which is considered extremely responsible, received major backlash. For the unversed, Aaj Tak was among the few channels that announced Dharmendra's death on November 11, 2025, which was clarified by the family, who condemned the media's act.
The 50-year-old senior TV journalist, Anjana Om Kashyap, faced widespread trolling over fake reporting about Dharmendra's health. On November 13, 2025, several posts surfaced on the internet highlighting false death reports of Anjana Om Kashyap. In one of the videos, an Instagram user was seen dramatically crying in front of the poster of Anjana with a garland on her picture.

However, the internet is strongly voicing its opinion on the fake death hoax. Talking about Anjana, she is not at all concerned about the trolling. Her first post after the fake death hoax was made 10 hours ago on Instagram, where she was seen reporting on other important news matters. Below her Instagram post, users flooded the comment section with the GIF of her fake death.

For the unversed, fans were extremely upset after false reports of Dharmendra's passing away made it to the headlines. It not only broke their heart but it was highly unprofessional. As soon as the video of Anjana surfaced on the internet with a garland around her picture, netizens reacted. One user stated it is wrong and people should stop this act. Another user commented that it is equally incorrect, and two wrongs cannot make a right.
Anjana is a 50-year-old senior anchor of Aaj Tak. She has made a huge name in the world of journalism with on-time reporting and content. She was born and brought up in Ranchi. Her father, Om Prakash Tiwari, served in the Indian Army as a doctor. She has studied at Delhi University.

Her love for news diverted her to journalism in the early 2000s when private TV news channels were just starting out. She pursued a diploma from Jamia Millia Islamia. Her journey started from Doordarshan, where she was the face of the investigative show, Aankhon Dekhi. Later, she moved to Zee News, and currently, she is the anchor of Aaj Tak.
When reports of the veteran's fake death surfaced, and the family slammed the media claims. Hema Malini and Esha Deol slammed the media for reporting fake claims about Dharmendra, who was doing better and responding well to treatment. Hema Malini took to her X handle, and slammed the fake news reporting. She called it unforgivable as responsible channels were spreading false news about a person who was responding to treatment. She wrote:
"What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."
On the other hand, Esha Deol also took to her Instagram handle and issued a statement. Without mincing her words, she lashed out at the media and called them out for spreading false news. She confirmed that her father is stable and recovering. She wrote:
"The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request that everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery."
