When we move out to a new city, away from family, we realise that nothing feels like celebrating festivals at home. The homemade laddus, mom’s special touch in decorations to a much-awaited get-together of friends, this warm homely feeling cannot be explained in words. As the celebration of Gauri puja ends on September 5, 2022, celeb couple, Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain shared glimpses of their intimate puja that they hosted in their brand new home in Mumbai.
For the unversed, Ankita and Vicky have been maintaining a long-distance relationship even after their marriage. The reason behind this is their dedication to work. Vicky, is a businessman by profession and has his work settled in Bilaspur. On the other hand, his actress-wifey, Ankita, stays in the city of dreams, Mumbai, to continue getting roles in the entertainment industry. However, recently they bought a lavish apartment in Mumbai to spend their holidays together.
Goddess Gauri is often considered Lord Ganesh’s sister, and it is said that she accompanies Bappa since Ganesh Chaturthi and bids a farewell to her devotees on Ganesh Visarjan. Taking to her IG space, Ankita Lokhande shared a series of glimpses from her Gauri poojan celebration. For the puja, she donned a baby pink silk saree paired with a sleeveless blouse and stone-studded jewellery. Twinning with Ankita, Vicky was seen in a similar coloured kurta layered with a floral Nehru jacket. The lovebirds invited their close friends and in-laws. We also spotted Ankita cutely posing with her mom in front of the deity. Check it out!
Earlier, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Ankita had opened up about her wedding for the first time. The actress revealed that she and Vicky had planned the wedding in a classy and luxurious way because it was a one-take thing. Mentioning how their perfect planning of a less tadak bharak wedding had surpassed their expectations, Ankita had stated:
“Everyone has their own wedding plans. Vicky and I planned a few things too. Jo socha tha usse kahin zyada achchi ho gayi cheezein. We were excited and super nervous since it was a one-take thing. I always wanted my wedding to be different. My wedding was not too much tadak bhadak. It was very classy, just the way I wanted it.”
In the same conversation, Ankita added how she picked the perfect wedding lehenga for her, which made her look nothing short of a royal queen. Ditching the usual red hues, she had picked a heavily embellished golden lehenga by ace designer, Manish Malhotra’s couture. The bridal lehenga had taken 1600 hours of elaborate craftsmanship, and as a result, Ankita’s final look donning the same had taken the internet by storm. Speaking of which, she had said:
“Being an actor, I visualise things quickly. I’m not a confused girl. My outfits were also classy. I wanted to wear minimal jewellery as I wanted to show the glow on my face. I was even particular that I wanted a red garland so that it stands out.”
We love Ankita and Vicky’s intimate Gauri Puja celebrations!
