In an interview with Republic TV, Ankita had narrated the day of Sushant’s death and had recalled how she was asleep and the phone call of a journalist had woken her up, informing her about Sushant’s death. She had narrated, “I was sleeping and I just got up with some reporter’s call. Usually, I don’t take unknown numbers. Ankita had further recalled immediately turning on the news and seeing the stories on Sushant’s death. She had said, “I didn’t know what to do. I was just there. The next day, there was his funeral and I couldn’t make it because somewhere I knew that if I see Sushant somewhere like that, in that position, that stage… I have my whole life to live and I will never be able to forget that phase. So I decided that I cannot go to the funeral.”
In the same interview with Republic TV, Ankita had opened up about the depression theories made around Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. She had said that Sushant could not have been ‘depressed’. She had said, “Sushant was not the guy who could commit suicide. We have seen worse situations when we were together. He was a happy-go-lucky guy.” Ankita had shared her take on the theories of Sushant being in depression, saying that he was not a depressed guy, he was a hero and an inspiration. She had said, “He found happiness in small things. He wanted to do farming, I know this for sure... he told me agar kuch nai hua to main apni short film bana lunga (if nothing else works out, I will make a short film). He was not a depressed guy, not at all. I don’t know what the situation was... but I will keep repeating this. I don’t want people to remember him as a depressed guy, he was a hero. He was an inspiration.” (Don't Miss: Angad Bedi Gives A Glimpse of Sunday 'Aatank' Of Daddy's Little Girl Mehr Dhupia Bedi [Video Inside])
