Ajay Devgn is one of the leading Hindi film industry actors who has entertained audiences for more than three decades. Apart from his achievements on-screen, the actor is admired in the industry for being one of the most loyal and supportive friends. Although he doesn't participate in industry award shows, events or parties, Ajay is always there to help others. However, one of his former friends and filmmaker, Anubhav Sinha, shared in a new interview that the actor has not talked to him for 18 years.
Anubhav Sinha worked with Ajay Devgn in the 2007 film, Cash, that also starred Suniel Shetty, Esha Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Zayed Khan, and more. Although the filmmaker continued to work with other actors, he never worked with Ajay again. It gave air to the rumours that he possibly had a disagreement with the actor while working with him. However, in a new interview with Lallantop, Anubhav Sinha quashed these rumours and revealed that Ajay hasn't talked with him. In his words:
"We have never fought. He just doesn't speak to me, and I have no idea why. Since the making of Cash, we haven't even met for me to tell you he ignored me or something. So, maybe it's just me overthinking."
Anubhav Sinha added that although Ajay hasn't talked or communicated with him even after he tried sending the actor messages. However, the filmmaker stressed that there was no conflict between them. Rather, the producer and financier of the film had some disagreement, but he was not among them. Anubhav said:
"However, I did text him a couple of times, and never received a response, so I told myself that maybe it slipped his mind or he must have missed my message. But, it's been about 18 years since we have spoken."
Despite not speaking with Ajay Devgn for nearly 18 years, Anubhav Sinha maintained that the Tanhaji actor is among his favourites in the industry. He admires Ajay as an actor as well as a person. The Thappad filmmaker recalled that the latter was a yaaro ka yaar and the first person to turn up in times of need. Although Anubhav isn't sure if something has upset the actor, he believes that some of his political tweets could be the reason. The filmmaker said:
"In between, I did comment on people's political views, so I must have told him something, too. But he was not the only person I commented about. I have said things to various people, but I still maintain good relations with them all. I am his admirer, and I really respect him as an actor and individual."
Ajay Devgn was last seen in Azaad, co-starring Diana Penty, Rasha Thadani, and Aaman Devgan. He will next be seen in the sequel of his popular film, Raid, which will also star Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor. The film is set to release on May 1, 2025. Ajay also has De De Pyaar De 2 and Son Of Sardaar 2 in the pipeline.
