Anupam Kher actively shares updates from his personal life with his fans and followers on IG. Recently, he posted a video of his office's broken door and informed his fans that a theft occurred there on June 19, 2024. The Kashmir Files actor added that two thieves stole his safe and that it was a film's negative. As per various reports, the locker had Rs 4.15 lakh in cash and the negative of his 2005 film, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara.

The incident took place at his office in Veera Desai Road in Mumbai. He had occupied that three-room office for the past 30 years. Moreover, he explained that the staff took the door's video before informing the police. He captioned the video writing:
"Last night, two thieves broke two doors of my office at the Veera Desai Road and stole the entire safe from the Accounts Department (which probably they couldn't break) and negative of a film produced by our company which was in a box. Our staff has got an FIR done. Police have assured thieves will be caught very soon as the CCTV of our office has recorded the thieves leaving in an auto with the stolen items."
