The founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, Anupam Mittal, rose to immense stardom when he appeared in the business reality show, Shark Tank India. In addition, the handsome judge is famous for his luxurious lifestyle, and he often shares glimpses of it on his Instagram handle. However, Anupam, too, once faced bankruptcy when he was in his twenties and dealt with mental health issues. Now, in an interview, he opened up about the same.
Anupam Mittal recently appeared in a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, where he spoke about various unknown anecdotes from his life. The entrepreneur also reflected on his journey, and talked about the ups and downs in life and more. He was asked about the time when he thought of switching to business instead of having a job. Talking about the same, Anupam said that he had the same job and a monotonous life earlier, but it scared him the most. Instead, he wanted to do bigger things in life, and now, no two days of his life are the same. He shared that he is having fun in his life right now.

In the same conversation, Anupam also recalled his journey from the initial days of his career. The 53-year-old businessman talked about the time when he lost his job, which became the worst time of his life. Following this, he also shared how he dealt with anxiety and panic attacks at that time, and said:
“25 years ago I lost my job in the US, I was in a heavy debt and it was the worst time of my life. I suffered my first panic attack that time and it’s the worst thing ever. Not many people understand mental health issues but it is very important. Anxiety and fear is okay but panic attacks is not. It feels like the walls are falling on you and you just want to end everything.”
Anupam Mittal is married to actress, Aanchal Kumar, who was also a part of the fourth season of Bigg Boss. The duo tied the knot in 2013, and welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on December 16, 2017. They named their little girl Alyssa. Thus, during the conversation, Anupam talked about his biggest fear. He mentioned the importance of being relevant in life, and stated:
“When you become more successful, it’s when you have a lot more to lose. When nobody knows you, you are the only one dealing with your downfall when you fail. However, when you are up in life you have a lot more to lose as well. The most important thing today is stating relevant. You can’t afford to be irrelevant because then people will start to value you less and that’s a big fear of mine.”

A while back, Anupam had joked and indirectly taken a dig at Ashneer Grover, a former judge on Shark Tank India Season 1. It was during an episode in season 3 of the show that Pusarla Venkarj Suraj pitched his business idea for anger management, which was called The Rage Room. While delivering his pitch, Suraj asked if Sharks too get to deal with anger issues. To this, although Anupam didn't name anyone, it was evident that he was referring to Ashneer when he was heard saying, "Jisko aata tha woh gaya." And after a Twitter user reshared the clip on the discussion platform, Ashneer reacted to the same and said that Anupam was ageing. He added:
"Mittal Sahab Ki na Umar hogayi hai...Dusra, gussa wala chala gaya. Ye toh fact hain na. Galat toh kuch nahi bola Mittal saab ne us tareeka se. Chala gaya… Tum sab toh thandi ho sab, garmi to hai ni tum me. Tabhhi toh pehle season ka TRP dekh lo aur second, third season ka TRP dekh lo. Sab pata lag jayega. Aur Mittal saab ko ek cheez aur batana chahunga, bhaisahab, jo pehle season mein chala gaya wo tha GOAT, aur tum sab teesre season mein abhi bhi audition hi kar rahe ho Shark banne ke liye."
