It all began on the night of December 11, 2017, when a picture made our heart skip a beat for a moment. 'Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are now a married couple' it depicted. In the dreamy valleys of Tuscany, Italy, the world saw the amalgamation of an A-listed Bollywood superstar, Anushka and the captain of Indian cricket team. Virat. Complementing each other in pink and white and how well they blended in with their surroundings, admit it or not, time and again we checkout Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding pictures. No instances but only rumours were doing the rounds about Anushka and Virat’s wedding. And that is how Virushka’s (as their fans fondly call them) wedding came to be known as a ‘secret wedding’. Remember how Anushka and Virat had captioned their wedding pictures? Sharing the first-ever picture from their wedding, couple had written, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”
Anushka is the Vogue cover girl for March and in the same, Bollywood’s Pari revealed the extent the couple had gone to keep their wedding a secret, which included keeping fake names for preparations. Revealing the details, Anushka shared, “We even used fake names while talking to the caterer; I think Virat’s was Rahul.” She further added, “We wanted to have a home-style wedding. There were only 42 people there, with all our friends and family present. I wanted it to be about Virat and me marrying each other, and not this big celebrity wedding. The energy at our wedding was blessed.”
Given the back-to-back projects and work that is keeping the workaholic couple occupied, Anushka shared how much time she wants to spend with her hubby, “The past few years of my life I have been working so much. Now I have to take out time for what is important to me. Spending time with my husband is important. Unfortunately, we’re hardly in the same place at the same time, so in the time that I have off, I want to prioritise spending time with him and my family.” (Must Read: Kapil Sharma And Wife, Ginni Chathrath Exchange Lovey-Dovey Glances As He Sings 'O Hansini' For Her)
Speaking about her current life-state, Anushka revealed, “I’m in this space where I feel very peaceful, comfortable, self-assured and, I guess, really in touch with myself one hundred per cent. It’s something I’ve been working towards since the very beginning. All the decisions I’ve taken leading up to now have always been keeping that in mind. I base my decisions on what makes me more peaceful, and nothing else. If something makes me anxious and uncomfortable, I won’t do it, even if it’s something that I know I must do.”

A few days back, Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy rumours raised quite a hullabaloo in the media. But soon enough, the actress cleared it all in an interview with Hindustan Times, “That (spreading rumours) is something people will do anyway. It’s completely unnecessary and silly as you ultimately can’t hide such a thing. You can hide a marriage but not pregnancy. I feel every female actor goes through it, so people marry you off even before you are hitched and make you a mother before you are pregnant. I don’t pay attention to it, and just laugh these things off since I find them hilarious. When I read about such stuff, I think, ‘where do such absurd things come from?’ Right now, I’m literally working round-the-clock.”
Prior to her soon-to-release film, Zero, Anushka was seen in Sui Dhaaga, opposite Varun Dhawan. During the promotions of the film, the actress spoke about her camaraderie with hubby Virat Kohli, in an interaction with Anupama Chopra. Therein, she had stated, “I think we are both not so attached to what we do. The other day someone asked me a question you know ‘power couple and two powerful people from your own industry. You know when you are together, how do you manage this and all’. And I thought to myself and I told them also, we don’t see ourselves like that. We start to see ourselves that way then there is something really wrong in the nature of our relationship. If someone really wants to have an insight into our lives, we are very simple people, wanting to do normal, very simple things.”
Further talking about ‘them’ as a couple, the Jab Tak Hain Jaan star revealed, “We are both very awkward with the fame that we have we don’t embrace stardom and fame and that’s why, I think, we connect so much. We run away, sometimes, from these things. Sometimes, we find a need to be in our own cocoon. And that’s the reason why we are so self-sufficient." And further added, “And when I see self, I mean both of us because we don’t see each other as two different people. Him and me are male and female versions of each other.” (Also Read: Sonam Kapoor Once Felt Embarrassed By Arjun Kapoor's GF, Malaika Arora's Rude Behaviour At A Party)
In a 2015 interview, Virat at length, had opened up about his and Anushka’s relationship. He had stated in an interview, “I believe in my relationship. I trust my relationship. I trust her. I trust in my relationship with her. That's why I spoke to the Board and persons concerned about my relationship and tried to make them realise why I need her to be with me during such an important tour. I conveyed my feelings about her to the people who needed to be informed. And they respected my decision. They respected the fact that I respect my relationship. At a human level, people understand when you try to be honest about a relationship. She is a part of my daily life. And that's a fact. That is a major part of my life. People need to understand that."
