Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli is one of the most fearsome batsmen in world cricket. After years of thunderous innings in countless tournaments, he is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time. Not only this, but Virat is also considered a modern-day ODI great, courtesy of his numerous records and constant comparisons with the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. However, there’s no denying the fact that Virat suffered so many ups and downs in his life, and it was never a cakewalk for a boy from Delhi’s Paschim Vihar, who went on to rule the world cricket.
For the unversed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married on December 11, 2017, in an intimate wedding ceremony in Italy. The couple welcomed a baby girl on January 11, 2021, in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Undoubtedly, they’re one of the most sought-after celebrity couples in India. Time and again, we have seen Virat and Anushka giving us tons of couple goals with the way they lead their happy married life. Since their marriage, everyone has witnessed a tremendous change in the personality and temper of Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli. Even the cricketer has admitted in many of his interviews that after his marriage with Anushka Sharma, he has become more peaceful and looks at things from a bigger and different perspective. However, one of the biggest changes that everyone saw in Virat Kohli was his belief in faith and spirituality. Before his marriage to Anushka Sharma, the cricketer once in a press conference admitted that he is not the kind of person, who does prayers and worship.
It was back in 2016 when during the T20 World Cup, a reporter asked Virat Kohli whether he does pooja-paath in order to make him calm and composed in tense situations. In response to it, the cricketer smiled and admitted that he wasn’t one of those guys, who does pooja-paath. Virat’s response left everyone in splits. The cricketer said:
"Do I look the pooja-path types? (Do I look like I do prayers and worship?)"

The cricketer’s die-hard fans thank his wife, Anushka Sharma, for bringing him close to spirituality. In recent years, we have seen Virat and Anushka visiting so many religious places and temples. They’re probably one of the most religious celebrity couples in India. It all started with Virat and Anushka’s visit to Neem Karoli Baba’s Kaichi Dham in Nainital, Uttarakhand.

The doting parents, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma did darshan at the ashram with their daughter, Vamika Sharma and also distributed some blankets to the needy people. After their visit to the Kaichi Dham in Uttarakhand, Anushka and Virat also paid a visit to Neem Karoli Baba’s second ashram in Vrindavan. The couple was once again hailed for their strong connection with their roots and spirituality. Anushka and Virat also received a lot of admiration from people for not shrugging off their religious sides in the thirst for looking ultra-modern. While on the one side, they’re one of the most stunning couples in India, on the other side, they always feel proud while taking part in religious ceremonies and visiting temples to continue their spiritual journey.
One of the greatest spiritual leaders in India’s rich history, Swami Dayanand Giri, needs no introduction as he was the spiritual guru of the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Saint Dayanand used to teach Vedanta and Sanskrit in India and abroad. He was also honoured with an award for his work in India by the United Nations back in 2005. The celeb couple, Anushka and Virat, also took time from their busy schedule and visited the ashram back in January 2023.
On March 4, 2023, several pictures and videos of the celebrity couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s visit to the famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain surfaced on social media and once again won everyone’s hearts. The couple can be spotted sitting with other devotees and offering prayers to Lord Shiva at his iconic Mahakal temple. Anushka and Virat’s visit to the temple before the start of India’s 4th Test match with Australia, speaks volumes about their belief in God.

The couple was also hailed for their simplicity, as they denied taking any VIP treatment at the temple. After Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s visit to the Mahakal temple, videos of the former’s statement, "Do I look like the pooja-paath types?" was once again doing rounds on social media. However, people are impressed with the right kind of impact that Anushka had on Virat’s life and hailed them as one of the best celebrity couples in India, if not the best.
