After innumerous pregnancy speculations and several clarifications over the two-and-a-half-years of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s married life, Virushka had finally made their fans feel over the moon with the announcement of their pregnancy in August 2020. “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.” – said a tweet by Anushka and Virat, which had taken the social media by storm. Anushka Sharma posed for Vogue’s cover, the pictures of which were released on December 30, 2020, and just like all of us, her hubby, Virat Kohli was left in awe of his ‘beautiful’ wife. When Anushka posted a picture, flaunting her baby bump and pregnancy glow, Virat dropped a lovely comment for his wife, “Beautiful”. Anushka captioned her post as “Capturing this for myself, for life!” For an interview with the Vogue, Anushka opened up on how she’s spending the last days of her pregnancy, food cravings, resistance to smell and the beauty of this phase. To begun with, Anushka spoke about directing a lot of her energy in preparing the animal-themed nursery and setting up the home for the baby. A self-confessed planner, Anushka said, “I just want to be prepared. Everything is slower because of the times we are living in and I don’t like to rush things. This time in my life, even more so. I want the nursery to be very calm. It’s the place where you spend the most amount of time, where you are bonding with your baby, so it has to be peaceful.”
Much like Anushka Sharma’s approach to life and parenthood, the theme of the nursery is one that is deeply thoughtful, reflecting important facets of her and Virat Kohli’s world. Anushka said, “I don’t believe that boys have to wear blue and girls pink. The nursery has all colours. Both Virat and I love animals and we want our baby to have that bond too. They are a big part of our lives and we really believe they can teach kindness and compassion to children.” When asked if she felt nausea or exhaustion, she retorted, “Smells would revolt me, I couldn’t go near the kitchen. I swear, I could smell people’s skin. I thought it was never going to end. I didn’t think I could feel so tired. I am an active person and it was startling, but even when you’re in pain, or uncomfortable, you are still thinking: have I eaten at the right time? Is the baby okay?” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor's Little One Makes Her Morning Lovelier With A Priceless Gift And 'I Love You')

Revealing the biggest pregnancy myth that her doctor busted and her food cravings, Anushka Sharma continued, “I was eating only toast and crackers for the first three months. So, when it ended, I wanted to eat vada pao and bhel puri, but that didn’t last long either. So, no real cravings. I am someone who likes to read a lot and research a great deal; I’ve chewed my doctor’s brain. So many times we don’t have enough knowledge… It’s what you are told by family members, but somewhere, it’s important to have a medical perspective rather than just follow beliefs and patterns. The first thing my doctor told me is that the biggest myth is eating for two.” Adding that she stayed active with walks and yoga, and while in Dubai, a little swimming, Anushka said, “You are more connected to your body, to all that is happening. It’s mind-boggling when I see the changes. It’s amazing. I’ve always meditated. It’s a daily practice, and my life has been quite balanced, so I’ve carried that forward. The only difference is that I’ve had a lot more time.”
Anushka Sharma spoke about the beauty of parenting and expressed her excitement on embracing motherhood. To-be mommy said, “The advice I have gotten is that you have to learn as you go; you can’t pressurise yourself, but you have to be prepared because there will be curveballs. That’s the beauty of becoming a parent. It’s a less selfish existence and I’m really excited. I know it’s not going to be easy all the time, but you have to do what you have to do.” (Also Read: Kapil Sharma Dances With His 'Laado', Anayra Sharma, Little One Steals Our Hearts With Her Cuteness)
