Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli moved to London before the birth of their son, Akaay Kohli. The actress, who rose to fame with her movie, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, gave up her celebrity status and her cricketer-husband, Virat happily agreed. The couple gave up their celebrity status to live a normal family life. Recently, Anushka came back to India for a work event, and she also talked about how they are as parents.
In the era of social media, where every person's life is on social media, often creates pressure on people to be better than others, especially on new parents. They all want to be perfect, but Anushka Sharma doesn't believe in the concept of being a 'perfect parent' and calls herself and Virat flawed parents. Talking about the same at an event, Anushka added that there is so much pressure to be a perfect parent.
The mommy of two added that there are times when they complain about things, and they feel completely normal in admitting their mistakes and knowing they are flawed. She was quoted as saying:
"There is so much pressure to be like this perfect parent. We are not perfect parents, we will complain about things, and it is okay to admit it to them also. So they know that you are flawed. Imagine kids having to live up to, ‘Oh my parents are like this’. So owning your mistakes makes (it easier)."
Further, Anushka shared her parenting style at the event. She revealed that her daughter is very young and she, as a mother, cannot teach her anything. She can only set an example by living a gratitude-filled life and expressing it to people on a daily basis. And Vamika has definitely learnt that. She was quoted as saying:
"In my case, I have realised that my daughter is very young. And I don’t think I can teach her anything. It is how we lead our lives. Are we showing gratitude to others in our daily life? Are we grateful for the things we have in life? Are we showing that as an example? Do we think this is enough? I think she has picked up on that, I don’t think I can teach her anything."
On August 8, 2024, Anushka took to her Instagram stories and shared a glimpse of her day with her kids, Vamika and Akaay. In the photo, we can see ice lollies, and it looks as if it was made at home. There were strawberry and milk flavoured ice-creams to blueberry ones. We can also see Anushka's baby boy, Akaay's evening snack, which was sliced carrots and cucumber.
