On February 20, 2024, Anushka treated the fans with her second baby's announcement and revealed that her family had been completed with the arrival of their son. As soon as Anushka posted about her baby boy, Akaay's birth, her ex-beau, Ranveer Singh was the first one to comment. He commented with a series of heat and blue evil eye (sign to protect from bad eye) emojis.

Anushka Sharma chose a unique name for her second child. She named her Akaay, which is a gender-neutral name. It is originated from Turkish, and it means shining moon. However, in Sanskrit, it means without a form or body. Coming to Anushka Sharma's baby arrival announcement she shared a picture note on her Instagram handle. In the picture note, Anushka revealed that her daughter was blessed with a baby brother on February 15, 2024. Her note could be read as:
"With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love. We are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy, Akaay, and Vamika's little brother into this world. We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time."
For those who don't know, there was a time when the rumours mills were abuzz with the news of her dating Band Baja Baaraat actor, Ranveer Singh. While no one ever confirmed their linkup, it was quite evident in their numerous public appearances. Unfortunately, after a few years of dating, they parted ways but maintained a cordial relationship.
While Anushka Sharma tied the knot with Virat Kohli in 2017, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married in 2018. After six years of marital bliss, reports are rife that Deepika is pregnant. An insider told The Week that the actress is currently expecting her first child. The source also stated that she is in her second trimester, and it was one of the reasons why she chose a Sabyasachi saree and was even trying to hide her midriff.
