Bigg Boss 17 concluded its season on January 28, 2024, with Munawar Faruqui as its winner. Abhishek Kumar and Mannara Chopra stood second and third in the race, respectively. Soon after returning to the real world, Mannara Chopra updated her Instagram bio and labelled herself as a winner in the female category. This did not sit well with many, and they started poking fun of her, after which she removed the bio and changed it to 'Bigg Boss 17 runner up'.
The season's winner, Munawar Faruqui, made a sly dig at Mannara Chopra for the same. On one of his live sessions, the stand-up comedian poked fun at her indirectly and said that Aoora is also a BB winner in the NRI category. He added that Naved Sole is the first runner-up in the NRI category. After his live session, Aoora updated his IG bio and added, 'Bigg Boss 17 NRI Winner Category'.

On January 9, 2024, all the former Bigg Boss 17 contestants had a grand reunion party, and all of them were present at the bash in their fashionable best. K-pop singer, Aoora, who also entered the show as a wildcard contestant, joined the bash wearing a unique sash that stated, 'NRI Winner Category'. This seemed like an indirect dig at Munawar Faruqui for dragging him into the joke and also towards Mannara Chopra for declaring herself as the winner in females.
For the party, Aoora was dressed in a mustard yellow pantsuit with a gold-hued border on the hemline. He accessorised his look with a pocket square and layered some rings and chains. He added a fun touch to his look with yellow-coloured hair and black platform loafers. Aoora even distributed chocolate to the paps, who were delighted by his sweet gesture.

As soon as Aoora came to the party wearing the funky sash and the video of the same was circulated on the web, netizens took to their social media platforms and appreciated his humour. While some thought this was a dig at Munawar and Mannara, others believed that Aoora has taken Munawar's NRI joke a little too seriously.
