Apoorva Mukhija Defends BFF, Rida Tharana Amid Backlash Over 'Black Magic' Comment, 'The Last...'

Apoorva Mukhija, also known as 'The Rebel Kid', has been in the middle of controversies since her appearance on India's Got Latent wreaked havoc. However, the influencer came back stronger and shared her side of the story, further claiming that she was here to stay. After being away for quite some time, Apoorva Mukhija uploaded a clarification video to her YouTube channel. Nonetheless, a part of her video was misinterpreted, and her best friend, Rida Tharana, was the one who was caught in the crossfire.

Apoorva Mukhija and Rida Tharana have shared a strong friendship over the years, and they have never shied away from sharing the same. From trips together to girl dates and being each other's number one supporter, the duo has always served 'Friendship Goals'. However, things turned south when Apporva was caught up in the IGL controversy, and Rida fell short of showing her support for her BFF. The action, or the lack of it, confused the netizens, and the mention of Rida being absent from Apoorva's video further fueled the fire.

Apoorva Mukhija, in her latest video, mentioned a friend who was doing 'black magic' on her. This further escalated the situation as netizens mistook that the influencer was talking about Rida Tharana, and she faced severe backlash for the same. However, Apoorva once again took to her Instagram handle on April 13, 2025, and cleared the air regarding the speculations. She posted a note defending her best friend and asked her fans to refrain from spreading hate.

In the said note, Apoorva mentioned that after her video, a lot of assumptions and hate have been going around. She added that while she appreciated that her fans had her back, that was the last thing she wanted. Apoorva further admitted that the only purpose of the video was to share her side of the story and how she felt. She concluded the post by asking her followers not to spread negativity or jump to conclusions. Apoorva also shared a picture of her and Rida on her Instagram stories,  She was quoted as saying:

"After my video, there have been a lot of assumptions and a lot of hate going around and as much as I appreciate you guys having my back. This is the last thing that I wanted. I wanted to share my story and my feelings - nothing more. So let's please not jump to conclusions or spread negativity."

Rida also took to her Instagram stories on April 13, 2025, and shared her side of the story. She revealed that while she wanted to be there for her best friend, she had been silent because of her mother's health. She added that while she has genuine reasons for her actions, she won't be justifying herself anymore. A part of her post read:

"So no...I'm not going to explain myself anymore. To the ones who want to stay, thank you. To the ones who don't see me for who I am, feel free to unfollow me. I'm not here to be perfect. I'm not chasing fame! I'm grateful for the love! Already have. All I've ever wanted is to earn enough to take care of my people, to travel, and to live a quiet life surrounded by love. That's it."
