The iconic music composer, AR Rahman is currently leading all the headlines, as his music in the recently-released film, Ponniyin Selvan 2, continues to receive immense love and appreciation from the audiences. The outstanding duo of Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman worked together for a long time. Even at the age of 56 years, AR Rahman continues to stun everyone with his work.

When it was announced that Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman would join hands for Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2, people were super-excited to witness the magic that they had created in the past. Luckily, the two matched the expectations, as the film's soundtrack is one of the prime factors behind the film’s success.

AR Rahman defends his wife, Saira Banu after Kasturi Shankar trolled her for not speaking in Tamil

Recently, popular actress, Kasturi Shankar took to her Twitter handle and tweeted about Indian music composer, AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu. In her tweet, the actress slammed the composer’s wife for not speaking in Tamil at a recent event. Kasturi also asked AR Rahman to reveal the language they use to communicate at home. Soon after Kasturi’s tweet started doing rounds on social media, AR Rahman came forward to give a befitting reply to the actress. The ace composer defended his wife, Saira and just tweeted, "Respect for love", which was enough to drop the mic.

For the unversed, recently, AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu attended an awards night and grabbed eyeballs for their mushy chemistry throughout the event. However, the couple won everyone’s hearts when they went on to the stage and communicated with the audience and the hosts. After AR Rahman addressed the audience, he requested his wife, Saira to speak a few words in Tamil. However, the doting wife openly revealed that her Tamil wasn’t so fluent, and hence, she spoke in English. While addressing the crowd, she revealed how her husband’s voice is her favourite and apologised for not speaking in Tamil. She said:

"Sorry, I can't speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am super happy and excited and his voice is my favourite. I fell in love with his voice. That's all I can say."

For the uninitiated, ace music composer, AR Rahman got married to the gorgeous lady, Saira Banu, back on December 20, 1973. The wedding ceremony took place in Kutch, Gujarat, and it was an intimate setup with only family and relatives in attendance. Although it was an arranged marriage, Saira was a huge fan of AR Rahman’s work, and it was a dream come moment for her to get married to her favourite singer and composer. The couple has three children, Khatija Rahman, Rahima Rahman and AR Ameen.
