This guy needs no introduction. He is recognised all around the globe for his outstanding music composition and superb singing. Not only that, he is such a humble man who is introvert and down to earth above everything else. A Trinity College of Music graduate has time and again set bars and proved his musical genius not nationally but internationally. Who knew that this person hailing from Madras would make such big name all across the globe. The mention is of none other than the one and only and talent ka bhandaar, A.R. Rahman.

Everyone knows a lot about his professional life, his commendable achievements and the blockbuster songs for which he has crooned his voice, but little is known about his personal life and love chronicle. Similar to his nature, God made a match for Rahman, which is the best. Just like any other mother, Rahman’s mom, Kareema Begum was looking out for a life partner for him and the choices lead them to a beautiful and equally humble lady named, Saira Banu.
Just like any other family, when a guy reaches a certain age and is mentally and financially prepared to get married, the family starts looking out. A.R. Rahman’s case was no exception! Rahman was very much clear in his mind the type of girl he wanted. He made the things very much clear to his mom who was the one to search for a right girl for him. The name of the girl that his mother found turned out to be Meher, younger sister of Rahman’s wife-to-be, Saira. Then, Kareena Begum went to her father with the offer, who happened to be a Chennai-based businessman. It was at this time that Rahman’s mom came to know that Meher had an elder sister, Saira and their father made it clear that first she would get married. But then, after meeting Saira, she thought her to be a perfect match for Rahman since she was fulfilling all his demands.
Saira, who came out to be the perfect match for Rahman scored full on all his counts. Not only that she was beautiful, she was also one of the most humble and down to earth personalities that any guy could have wished for. And the fact that she had shied away from the cameras and spotlight all throughout Rahman’s professional journey till the top.
Their bond and their connect was so strong and stout that everything was going in their tide. Ever since their wedding, Rahman’s wife Saira was very supportive of him. In fact, in an interview with the Times of India, Rahman once revealed that he told her in unequivocal terms that if a song comes up in the middle of a planned dinner, he will have to ditch the plan and go for the recording. To which she was completely fine. Here’s what the man said:
“We had a conversation before marriage, otherwise we would have separated long back. That was my orientation to her. I had told her, if we have planned dinner and a song comes up, we will have to ditch the dinner.”
A.R. Rahman and Saira finally walked down the aisle in March of 1995, when Rahman was 27 and Saira 21. Ever since their love has only grown fonder and they are giving some serious relationship goals.

Saira and Rahman are head over heels in love with each other. For the fact that Rahman is most of the time away from his family and wife, Saira, in the year 2007, was quoted as saying:
“I miss him terribly when he’s away.”
Rahman and Saira have been Yin to another’s Yang and they perfectly know how to understand and maintain a balance between things. All this while, and even now, Saira is the shining light to Rahman, his perfect support pillar as well as “his fiercest critic” who “keeps (him) grounded." The love between the two was never projected before the paparazzi.
It was during the Oscars Award in the year 2009, Rahman and Saira’s love for each other could be seen completely. It was at this award show that Rahman went to collect two well-deserved awards for his work on Danny Boyle’s magnum opus, Slumdog Millionaire. The lovebirds could be seen all drenched in love, the entire award function, Saira could be seen going to her husband’s right arm throughout the ceremony.

Both of them, Rahman and Saira could be seen sporting black-coloured outfits, complementing each other to the core. Once Rahman also admitted saying that it is Saira who keeps up with the trends in a relationship. Together, Rahman and Saira have three children out which two are daughters namely, Khatija and Rahima, and the third child is a son named, Ameen Rahman.
