Archana Puran Singh is one of the much-loved celebrities, who is known for her comic roles in Hindi films. It was back in 2019, when Archana joined The Kapil Sharma Show as a judge, and she has been a prominent figure in that show ever since. Recently, Archana has been busy promoting the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, wherein she revealed an unheard anecdote about her remuneration.
Archana Puran Singh, along with Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur, sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan, wherein she was asked if she was ever told to tone down her laughter a bit. To this, the actress revealed that those people might not be on earth who would have asked her to tone down her laughter. Meanwhile, Sunil Grover chipped in and added that no one has the power to comment on Archana's laughter, as she's getting paid for the same.
Archana Puran Singh said that she is very happy with the way she laughs. The actress was further asked if the other cast members get jealous of her as they have to put on makeup and act, while the actress just sits and reacts. To this, Archana revealed that the other cast members get paid double for the hard work they put in. She remarked that some people get paid for their beauty, and others get remuneration for their talent, and she gets paid for both. Archana said:
"Paise ye log double le jate hai. Toh sahi hai na mehnat karo bhai. I’m getting paid to laugh, and they’re getting paid for their hard work. Some get paid for their beauty, others for their talent, but I get paid for all of that.”
If a report by DNA, is to be followed, Kapil Sharma probably charged Rs. 5 crore per episode for The Great Indian Kapil Show, which aired on Netflix, and his total fee for five episodes had been Rs. 25 crore. On the other hand, Sunil Grover reportedly charged Rs. 50 lakh per episode for the show, while Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda get Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 7 lakh, respectively. Archana Puran Singh's per episode remuneration was said to be Rs. 10 lakh. Well, no confirmation about the same has been given.
Earlier, a report by The Indian Express revealed that Archana Puran Singh once talked about her fake laughter on The Kapil Sharma Show. The actress said that people would perceive her to be mad as they would think that she laughs at bad jokes. The actress explained how her laughing clip would have been attached to any other jokes, that wouldn't have any punch, and this would make people think that the actress was laughing at every joke, which led her to bring the tag of 'mad'.
