Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is not just an ordinary Indian sitcom; the show has a huge fan base. Among the many characters associated with the show, the cute banter between 'Jethalal', played by Dilip Joshi, and 'Babita', often referred to as 'Babita Ji', played by Munmun Dutta, holds a special place in the fans' hearts. However, the current plot in the show doesn’t feature the favourite pair 'Jethalal' and 'Babita Ji'. Their absence is raising questions about whether 'Jethalal' and 'Babita' have made their potential exit from Sab TV’s longest-running sitcom, TMKOC.
It’s been 17 years since TMKOC fans have been enjoying the cute banter between 'Jethalal' and 'Babita Ji', but their absence from the current plot has created a lot of buzz. There have been speculations that the duo may have been considering their potential exit from the show after entertaining the audience for many years. For the unversed, the makers have reintroduced a spooky element from the much-loved 'Bhootni' track. In the current track, 'Taarak Mehta's' boss offers him and his wife 'Anjali', a beautiful vacation in his bungalow, Holiday Home.
However, 'Taarak' requests his boss to allow the other members of his Gokuldham Society to accompany him and his wife on the trip. Pleased with his work and the company’s profits, 'Taarak's' boss agrees to his request. But little did 'Taarak' and the Gokuldham Society members know that the holiday home is haunted, and 'Taarak's' boss has sent them to investigate the matter.
Among the spooky matters going on in the current plotline, netizens noticed the absence of 'Jethalal' and 'Babita Ji'. In fact, 'Iyer' played by Tanuj Mahasabde's presence is also missing from the current track. Their absence created a buzz that Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta might have made their exit from the show. According to a report by ABP, the show’s production house has confirmed that Munmun Dutta, who plays 'Babita', is still part of the show. While the story’s current plotline shows that 'Jethalal' is on a business trip with his associates, 'Babita' and 'Iyer' are reportedly on vacation in Mahabaleshwar.

Each and every resident of the Gokuldham Society is the fans' favourite, and people know the actors by their character names. Although there has been a replacement of some actors playing the characters like 'Sonu', 'Tapu', 'Anjali', 'Taarak', 'Dr. Hathi' and more, the audience wants only Disha Vakani as 'Dayaben'. For the uninitiated, Disha took a maternity leave and has never returned to the show since 2017. There had been numerous speculations that she may be returning to the show, but there is no official confirmation from her side.
