Bollywood actor, Arjun Kapoor is the son of renowned producer, Boney Kapoor and his late wife, Mona Shourie. He had made his debut with the film, Ishaqzaade in 2012, and ever since then, there was no looking back for the actor. Arjun loves and respect the women in his life and often credits them for his achievements. Time and again, Arjun has expressed his love for his late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor, who had passed away in 2012 after battling cancer.
Recently, Arjun Kapoor completed 10 years in Bollywood, and over the years, he managed to impress the audience with his acting prowess. Now, in an interview with a leading news portal, Arjun opened up about his struggles, being financially independent, his mother and much more. He also talked about his struggle with obesity and his latest body transformation.

Arjun Kapoor's mother, Mona Shourie had passed away days before his debut film, Ishaqzaade had got released. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Arjun Kapoor remembered his mother as he completed 10 years in the film industry and said that his mother would have been very happy to see his debut film had she been alive. He added:
“I think woh pehli picture dekh leti toh khus ho jati. Bas utna hi kafi tha unke liye. She had sacrificed so much to put me in a position where I can be independent. I think my mother would be proud of the fact that I am so independent that I can afford to not go to work for a day and that is very empowering. She would have been happy to know that at 36 I have sorted a lot of my demons out. But, I think for her Ishaqzaade would have been enough just to know that she has brought me up well and I will be okay.”
Arjun Kapoor was not launched by his producer-father, Boney Kapoor, but he managed to make an identity of his own. The actor revealed that he had stopped taking money from his father after becoming an actor and added that he considers it to be his biggest achievement. Talking about the same, he said:
“I have never taken anything from my father since I have become an actor. Even before that, it was very limited to what was the necessities. My mother took care of us very well. She brought us up very well. My father as present as he could be was. It’s a very special thing for me to be today in a position where I can wake up and say ‘no’ to a film."

Recently, Arjun Kapoor left his fans stunned when he had shared a glimpse of his weight loss journey with a then and now picture and had revealed that it had taken him 15 months to get back in shape. In the same interview, Arjun opened up about his weight loss journey and his struggle with obesity. Sharing how he easily puts on weight if he misses a day of work out, Arjun added:
“It is a very simple thing, when I came to the industry I had lost an x amount of weight, and I was looking a certain way. Then I had put on weight, I was not looking my best, I was aware of it. But I was not able to lose it the way I had lost it earlier and I was working. Thinking I will do it when I get time. I didn’t get it, some of the movies didn’t work. I am an obese kid who is trying to be fit. So I will always have certain issues that need to catch up. My t-shirt also gets tight someday, if I don’t work out my weight increases. If I eat anything wrong for two-three days. But I put in double efforts. “
On the work front, Arjun has several films, including The Lady Killer, Ek Villain Returns and Kuttey in the pipeline.
