Aditya Dhar’s latest film, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Singh and more is still making a lot of noise on social media. For the unversed, the thriller was released on December 5, 2025, and it broke records of iconic films like Baahubali, Saiyaara and more. A recent report by Mid-Day claimed that ace filmmaker, Aditya Dhar has begun a three-day shoot with Arjun Rampal in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Reportedly, Aditya Dhar is shooting one of the last scenes of Dhurandhar 2 with Arjun. Recently, a source close to the filmmaker shared that Dhurandhar 2 will also show the personal life of Arjun’s ruthless character. The source was quoted as saying:

"Dhurandhar shows Major Iqbal as a ruthless character. In the second part, the director wanted to give context to who he is when he’s not in the field. These portions will establish his personal stake in the events and bridge his decisions later in the story. Around 50 background artistes were present for the shoot."

Arjun Rampal plays the role of ‘Major Iqbal’ in Dhurandhar

For the unversed, Arjun Rampal plays the role of ‘Major Iqbal’, who is shown as the mastermind behind all the at***ks in the film. He is the main antagonist in the film. If reports are to be believed, Arjun's character is influenced by Ilyas Kashmiri, a Pakistani militant, who was once known as 'new Osama bin Laden'. Reportedly, he was involved in multiple te******t at***ks, including 2008 Mumbai at***ks. He was reportedly killed in 2011 by a U.S. drone strike. In December 2025, Arjun Rampal had shared that he felt horrible while playing the role of 'Major Iqbal'. He had said:

"I wanted to get out of the character as soon as I could. One of the important reasons to do it was that it is an important film to do. To see the event is one thing; what happened behind the scenes to see those events taking place is something that would excite me as an audience. I felt horrible when you’re doing it because you love your country so much."

For the uninitiated, Dhurandhar 2 is all set to hit the theatres on March 19, 2026. It will be clashing with Yash’s film, Toxic. Dhurandhar 2 will bring back the core cast including Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and more. Reportedly, Akshaye Khanna will also be a part of the film. Even though his character died in the first film, reports suggest that he will be seen in the sequel in flashback scenes.

Viewers can expect Dhurandhar 2 to pick up right where the first film ended. The sequel will continue the cat-and-mouse conflict between Ranveer Singh's character, 'Hamza' and his enemies. However, the sequel is expected to be darker. Viewers can expect intense action scenes and emotional arc of each character. If reports are to be believed, Dhurandhar 2 will be released in multiple languages.
