Bollywood actor, Arjun Rampal opened up about the success of his film, Dhurandhar. The actor also shared an anecdote on how the film gave him a chance to take revenge against the painful 2008 Mumbai attacks. The actor talked about the same during an event at the Hall of Fame Awards in Mumbai, and shared the ordeal he went through on the fateful night.
26/11 trauma is still fresh in the hearts of many Indians, especially the ones who witnessed the horrors of the attack first-hand. And Arjun Rampal was also one of the few who witnessed the horrific moments that unfolded during the terror attack. During his award acceptance speech, Arjun Rampal stated that the ordeal helped him to perform well in the film.

Arjun Rampal revealed that in 2009, on 26/11, which also happened to be his birthday, he had planned a dinner night at the Taj Hotel with his friends. He shared that they had ordered a drink when they heard a bomb; the whole place kind of shook and rattled. He was quoted as saying:
'In 2008, during 26/11, I was in this hotel. I had come to pick up my friends. We were on our way to the Taj Hotel because we were going to go and celebrate my birthday and 26/11 also happened to be my birthday. One guy was getting ready. God bless him. We were at the bar, and we ordered a drink and the first bomb went off near Mahim. I heard that sound and the whole glass kind of shook and rattled, and we were like, 'what the hell was that'?"

Arjun Rampal also shared that he was initially told that a gang war broke out in Colaba. He shared that Adarsh Jatia kindly gave him a suite and told him that they cannot allow anyone to go out, as it was not safe. Arjun Ramapl added that on his birthday, he had to witness the horrors of 26/11. He said:
"In 10 minutes, our phones were ringing and everybody said there was some gang war that had broken out in Colaba. In 20-30 minutes, the whole of Four Seasons (hotel) was cordoned off. Adarsh Jatia (Managing Director, Provenance Land, owner of Four Seasons Hotel) very gracefully gave me a suite and said 'you could stay here for the night, but we can't let anybody go out, it's not safe'. And on my birthday, I saw the horrors of 26/11 play out."

Arjun Rampal revealed that when he drove back home, he stopped at least three times as he thought he was going to get sick. Arjun added that when Aditya Dhar narrated him the film, Dhurandhar. He knew that he would get his revenge through the movie. Arjun Rampal shared:

"In the morning, when I drove back home, I had to stop at least three times because I thought I was going to be sick. When Aditya Dhar narrated to me the 26/11 scene, I knew I was going to have my revenge, and that's what I did with Dhurandhar. And all I want to say is Bharat Mata Ki Jai."
Aditya Dhar's directorial film, Dhurandhar 2, features Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and Danish Pandor. The film was released on March 19, 2026. It promises to deliver high-octane action sequences and intense drama. The first instalment of the film was a superhit; fans loved Ranveer Singh's performance, and the songs were also huge hits. The second part also broke the records.
