Aruna Irani, a well-known Indian actress, acted in more than 500 films throughout her acting career. The actress began her acting journey as a child artist in Ganga Jumna. She continued to work on several films and established herself as one of the prominent actresses in the glamour world. The gorgeous actress, in the later years of her career, moved to television and worked in famous serials like Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, Rabba Ishq Na Hove, Vaidehi and more. Recently, Aruna sat for an interview and revealed her working experience with Rishi Kapoor in his debut film, wherein she had to do a nude scene with him.
While talking to Lehran, Aruna Irani revealed that she initially said 'no' to do the nude scene with Rishi Kapoor in the latter's debut film, Bobby. She explained that she was really shy to do the scene, wherein Rishi had to shoot naked while drying up his hair with a towel. Aruna stated that Raj Kapoor, who directed the film, convinced her to say 'yes' later. Recalling Raj Kapoor's words, she revealed that she was asked to focus on the good things rather than the bad ones. Aruna Irani could be quoted as saying:
"I had said no initially. He comes out nude and dries out his hair with a towel. He gave that shot. I told Raj ji that I can't do it. He said, 'Don't look there naa, don't see wrong things, see right things'. I did it at last."
Going further in the interview, Aruna Irani revealed that Rishi Kapoor reacted to her objection much later, when they were doing another film. The actress said that Rishi Kapoor asked her why she had an objection to the nude scene in Bobby since it was he who had to be naked, not her. To this, Aruna told the late actor that she was really shy to do the scene and that was why she was saying 'no' to the same. Aruna Irani recalled:
"I was then working with Chintu ji in Ravi Malhotra's film. He said, 'Aruna ji, mujhe aapse ek baat poochni hai. You objected a lot in that scene, but nanga toh mujhe hona tha, aap kyun object kar rahe the. "I told him that I was feeling shy. I was thinking and getting restless to ask you that why you were feeling shy when I was the one naked in that scene. But, he was actually right."
Bobby marked the debut of Rishi Kapoor in the Hindi film industry. Directed by Raj Kapoor, the classic Bollywood film revolves around the story of a rich boy falling in love with a poor girl despite societal pressures and opposition. Alongside Rishi Kapoor, the lead of the movie was Dimple Kapadia, Farida Jalal, Pran, Prem Chopra, Prem Nath, Jagdish Raj and Durga Khote were also seen in the movie.
Although Rishi Kapoor was Raj Kapoor's son, he was not treated any differently than the other stars. Talking about the same, Aruna, in an interview with the TOI, said that Raj Kapoor treated Rishi the same as Dimple and just like he would treat any other newcomer, by scolding them if they did anything wrong or by encouraging them if they worked well. She also recalled how one day she was having a small headache, and Raj Kapoor, upon learning about the same, cancelled the shoot for the day, even when she insisted that she was fine.
