Arya Babbar Bashes Prateik For Snubbing Raj From His Wedding, Says, 'He Hurt His Mom, Smita Patil..'

Prateik Babbar gave love another shot and hopped on the forever sail with his lady love, Priya Banerjee in an intimate wedding ceremony. The duo tied the knot on February 14, 2025. The actor stuck to his heart's desire of a close-knit wedding, and chose his late mother, Smita Patil's first home she brought in Mumbai to get married. While his wedding pictures radiate his infinite happiness and love, the absence of his father, Raj Babbar from the wedding has raised several questions.

Prateik Babbar's decision to not invite his father, Raj Babbar to his wedding has raised several eyes. While everyone is happy for the actor, they still wonder why the actor cut off his father and half-sibblings, Arya and Juhi from his big day. Now, the actor's half-brother, Arya has come forward to express his hurt over the same. In a conversation with Subhash K Jha, he stated that they must have failed Prateik as a family if he did not consider inviting them to the most special day of his life. He stated:

"Somewhere we as a family must have failed him. Not inviting other members of our family, my mother, my sister or me could be condonable: maybe we have failed him as a family, although we have never treated him as a stepbrother."

Further in the conversation, he also revealed how the decision has deeply hurt their father, Raj Babbar. For the unversed, Prateik is the son of Raj and late actress, Smita Patil, while on the other hand, Arya and Juhi are the children of Raj and Nadira Babbar. He expressed how by making such a decision he had hurt his late mother, Smita Patil as well. He also added that if the actor would just take a minute to think, he would understand that his mother would be greatly upset. He stated:

"Lekin chalo, shaayad humse koi bhool ho gayi ho. But Papa? Not inviting our Papa, his Papa… how can he do this? Papa is very very hurt. By doing this, Prateik has hurt his mother the great Smita Patilji as well. If he stops to think for a moment, he would know that his mother, whom he respects and loves so much, must be very hurt. Would she want this?"

Arya Babbar claims that they have always considered Prateik Babbar to be an intergral part of their family

In the same conversation, Arya Babbar stated that the door to their hearts will always be open for Prateik. He further wished the actor well for his marriage and his career. Arya also expressed how he has always believed in Prateik's abilities as an actor. He stated:

"We have always considered Prateik an integral part of the family. The doors of our hearts are always open to him. We hope he is happy in marriage and finds his niche as an actor. He has the genes of two great actors. I always believed he had the talent to be another Ranbir Kapoor. But somewhere, he has gone astray. We fear someone is giving him wrong advice."
