Arya Babbar Shares Prateik Has Been Dodging Their Calls For Months Before Wedding, 'I'm Deeply Hurt'

Prateik Babbar got married to the love of his life, Priya Banerjee on Valentine's Day, 2025, at the late actress, Smita Patil's home. While the glimpses of the duo's low-key wedding left everyone in awe, it raised eyebrows when Prateik's father, Raj Babbar, along with his step-siblings, Arya and Juhi, could nowhere be seen at the wedding. Later, it was disclosed that the Babbar family wasn't invited. Arya and Juhi expressed their hurt over the same, and in a recent interview, the former yet again bared his heart out as he talked about Prateik ignoring their calls for months.

Arya Babbar feels it was 'disrespectful' to Smita Patil on Prateik Babbar's part as the latter didn't invite Raj Babbar

Arya Babbar recently sat for an interview with the Hindustan Times, wherein he stated that he felt that Prateik not inviting Raj Babbar was 'disrespectful' to Smita Patil. Arya mentioned that it's understandable that he and his sister, Juhi, along with their mom, Nadira not being invited to the wedding, as it was completely Prateik's choice. But Pateik not inviting his father, who has been everything to his late mom, Smita Patil, looked a bit disrespectful. In Arya Babbar's words:

"If he didn’t want to invite our mother Nadira, for whatever reason, I can understand. If he didn’t wish to call me or my sister Juuhi, that’s his choice. But the least he could have done was invite the person who meant everything to Smita maa – his father, Raj Babbar. Not doing so is deeply disrespectful to Smita maa.”

Arya Babbar reveals being hurt as Prateik has not responded to their calls for months

In the same interview, Arya Babbar was asked if they had reached out to Prateik to wish him after his wedding. To this, Arya said that it doesn't matter as Prateik hasn't been responding to their calls, which is hurtful. Arya further remarked that his WhatsApp DP still features Prateik and their cutesy family moment. Explaining why he chose not to change it, Arya stated that he never voiced this before, but he's deeply hurt by this. He further wondered if Prateik is being influenced and claimed to know nothing about the latter getting married on Valentine's Day. In Arya's words:

"Whether we reached out or not doesn’t change the fact that for the last few months, he has chosen not to respond to any of our calls. I don’t know why, but it’s extremely painful...I’m deeply hurt, yet I can’t bring myself to change the picture. I don’t know if someone is influencing him or if something else has happened. I truly wish the best for him. But taking such a big step without your parents’ blessings... we didn’t even know he was getting married."

How Juhi Babbar reacted to Prateik Babbar not inviting the Babbars to his wedding 

In an interview with The Times Of India, Juhi Babbar talked about not being invited to Priya and Prateik's wedding. She stated that someone has been influencing Prateik, but they don't want the actor to be in between. She clarified that she was not talking about Priya, as she is a wonderful girl, but someone who wants publicity and thus ended up influencing Prateik badly. Priya stated that no matter what, the doors to their hearts will always be open to Prateik as they are all siblings. She wished Priya and Prateik for their journey ahead and talked about how they all enjoyed during the actor's first wedding, and how Raj Babbar stood by him when that marriage ended.
