Who Is Asha Bhosle's Granddaughter Zanai? From Singing Sans Instruments With Transgenders And More

Zanai Bhosle is the granddaughter of evergreen legendary singer, Asha Bhosle. She turned 23 in January 2025 and has carved her niche despite coming from a musical background. Zanai has multifaceted talent in dancing, singing, and music; she is a lyricist and is also an actress. She knows the art of blending tradition with a dash of contemporary style in whatever she creates.

Zanai Bhosle's family

The Indian singer, music composer and entrepreneur turned 23 on January 16, 2025. She was born in Mumbai in 2002 and reportedly completed her studies at Institut Le Rosey, Switzerland. Born to Anand and Ahuja Bhosle, Zanai has a brother named Ranjay Bhosle. She has been part of a music band called 6 Pack, a transgender band. It was reportedly formed in 2016, and claimed to be India's first transgender band. Their main focus was to show the world that they should be accepted for who they are and live life in a proper and dignified way.

Zanai, along with the six transgender members, had crooned Hil Pori Hila. If you take a look at the video, you will realise that musical instruments have not been used in the music clip, and the melody was made with old bins and tins right from the garage. It is interesting also to note that in 2016 Zanai had also done a dance show in Birmingham, UK.

Zanai Bhosle's inspiration has been her grandmother, Asha Bhosle

It is interesting to note that since Zanai was growing up, her grandmother, Asha, had inspired her. Asha ji's unmatched singing style and versatility in voice modulation left a mark in the Hindi film industry and in the mind of Zanai. Under the guidance of Asha, Zanai developed an unconditional love of performing arts and also showcased remarkable skills towards the craft.

Zanai is known for singing timeless classic songs and giving captivating performances on the stage. Her dedication to the craft is enchanting and her voice resonates with varied generations that the diverse audiences have appreciated.

Zanai Bhosle's songs

The young lady in 2017 in Hill Road, Bandra, Mumbai had launched an Apple-authorised reseller store that she named iAzure. Her close friend, Sara Tendulkar, and her mom, Anjali Tendulkar, were seen during the inauguration. Apart from lending her voice to the remix version of Usha Mangeshkar’s Hila Pori Hila song, Zanai has also sung Tera Hi Ehsaas Hai for the spiritual guru, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s organisation. It was in April 2020 that she created her own YouTube channel.

Zanai Bhosle takes ahead the legacy of Asha Bhosle and RD Burman

Zanai's journey in the creative line has been proof of her respect towards taking the legacy of her late grandfather, Pancham Da, along with her grandmother, Asha Bhosle. She knows how to stay true to her roots and is surely carrying the Burman, Bhosle and Mangeshkar's legacy ahead.

On the work front, Zanai would soon be making her foray into the entertainment industry. She would essay the role of 'Rani Sai Bai' in Sandeep Ssingh's theatrical release, Pride of Bharat - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
