On November 23, 2025, Ashlesha Savant and Sandeep Baswana announced to the world that they had finally tied the knot after 23 years together. The beloved couple took their marriage vows in the Chandrodaya Temple of Vrindavan. The two first crossed paths as co-stars in the cult classic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, produced by Ekta Kapoor. They were both part of the second generation of the 'Virani' family. Ashlesha played the role of 'Teesha', the daughter-in-law of 'Tulsi'. Meanwhile, Sandeep portrayed 'Sahil', the nephew of the same lead character.
Ashlesha was a teenager and Sandeep was in his 20s when they first appeared in the show in the early 2000s. Now, after two decades, the actress, who is 41, married her 47-year-old former co-star, Sandeep. As per a Free Press Journal report, Ashlesha was born in Pune in 1972. Meanwhile, Sandeep hails from Haryana and was born in 1978. Hence, the two have a nearly six-year age gap, with the groom older than the bride.

Ashlesha and Sandeep are among the most beloved couples in the TV industry. Since they have been in love for over 20 years, people have often wondered why they had not tied the knot. In an older interview with ABP, when they had been in a live-in relationship for 14 years by then, Ashlesha revealed the reason and said:
"I don't need a signed piece of paper from a registered office. Security comes from within and not with diamonds, car or a marriage certificate. It comes from a connection with your soulmate. I was obsessed with him and used to get insecure, when I met him as a teenager. It's no longer the case now."

However, after 23 years, Ashlesha and Sandeep decided it was time to take the next step in their relationship. The couple felt a deep connection to the Radha-Krishan temples after visiting Vrindavan in April 2025. After the trip, they decided to get married. In an interview with ETimes, Sandeep shared:
"Ashlesha and I visited Vrindavan in April and felt a deep connect with the Radha Krishna temples there. That trip inspired us to get married after being together for 23 years. Our parents are the happiest - they've been waiting for this for a long time. We wanted to keep it simple, and what better than getting married in a Lord Krishna temple."
