Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron Placed On Leave Amid Cheating Row, Directors Initiate An Investigation

Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, and HR head, Kristin Cabot, have been making the headlines since they were caught on the 'Kiss Cam' of Coldplay's concert on July 16, 2025. The duo was seen snuggling when the camera zoomed in on them. However, as soon as they realised what was happening, they dug to hide their faces, making Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin, joke about them having an affair. Well, as it turns out, Andy was having an affair with his HR head, Kristin. Although the duo has not issued any statements, the company has provided updates on the matter, keeping the internet informed about their actions.

Astronomer shared a post about initiating a formal investigation into Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot's affair

It was around the wee hours of July 19, 2025 (IST) when Astronomer took to their LinkedIn account and shared an update about the investigation into Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot's affair. The company stated that it is committed to upholding the values and culture that have guided it since its inception. The statement added that they expect their leaders to take accountability for their actions and also clarified that none of the other employees were present at the Coldplay concert. The statement could be read as saying:

"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly. Alyssa Stoddard was not at the even,t and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect."

In another statement shared hours later on July 19, 2025 (IST), Astronomer revealed that the CEO, Andy Byron, had been placed on leave until the investigation was completed. They shared that the Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy, will assume the responsibilities of the interim CEO until further notice. The company also assured the people that it would share further updates as deemed appropriate in the coming days. The statement could be read as:

"Cofounder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave. We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days."

The 'Kiss Cam' scandal

It was on July 16, 2025, when Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were attending the Coldplay concert in Boston. The duo had been snuggling and enjoying the music, when suddenly the kiss cam focused on them. Instinctively, Andy and Kristin dug the cameras and snuck out of the scene. However, the video soon went viral, as Coldplay's frontman was heard saying:

"Either they are having an affair or really shy."

Little did Chris Martin know that he had indeed spotted Andy and Kristin having an affair. Soon, eagle-eyed netizens dug into the matter and discovered that Andy is married to Megan Kerrigan, who resides in New York with their two children. Kristin, on the other hand, was divorced and shared a child with her ex-husband. The news has since gone viral on the internet. However, there have been no official statements from either of the involved parties.
