Asha Bhosle tragically passed away on April 12, 2026, due to multiple organ failure. For the unversed, the iconic singer was hospitalised in Breach Candy Hospital on April 11, 2026. While initial reports claimed that Asha Bhosle suffered a cardiac arrest, later the family revealed the actual reason behind it. Well, now the attention has shifted to Bollywood actress, Athiya Shetty, who shared a photo of Lata Mangeshkar on her Instagram Stories. After she was brutally trolled by netizens, Athiya deleted her story.

Ever since the news of Asha Bhosle’s death went viral on social media, multiple users and celebrities poured in their love and blessings on the singer. Amid that, one of them was Athiya Shetty, who accidentally posted an image of Lata Mangeshkar to pay tribute to Asha Bhosle. Soon, the screenshot of her IG Story was shared on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit.

The screenshot instantly went viral and netizens started sharing their thoughts on the same. While some came to Athiya Shetty’s defense, others brutally trolled her for not being able to identify the difference between two sisters, even though she is an actress herself. One user commented, "Koi itna bada gawar kaisa ho sakta hai? Yeh industry mein pale bade hain aur inko pata nahi Asha ji kaisi dikhti hain aur Lata ji." Another user shared, "Embarrassing for a person who grew up in Bollywood."

A third user stated, "She is KL Rahul's wife what else can you expect from her." A fourth user explained, "There can be some misunderstanding, no need to point small mistake." A user also commented, "Why do these dumb nepos even try. I mean nobody expects sh*t from them. Why can't they just keep it cute. Keep it moving. And I mean, she couldn't even type the right name on Google. What level of dumbf--kery is that."

Asha Bhosle’s funeral details

Hours after Asha Bhosle’s death, her family came forward and shared tragic details about the demise and regarding the funeral. According to Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand, the funeral of the iconic singer will take place on April 13, 2026 at Shivaji Park, Mumbai at 4:00 PM.. He further mentioned that fans, who want to pay their last respect, can visit her Mumbai residence in Lower Parel on Monday at 11:00 AM. He was quoted as saying:

"My mother Asha Bhosle has passed away today. Tomorrow at 11 AM, people can pay their last respects at her residence."
