Atul Parchure was a famous face in countless television shows and films. He has worked with famous celebrities like Ajay Devgan, Shah Rukh Khan, and many more. And his most notable works are in films, including Salaam-E-Ishq, Partner, All the Best: Fun Begins, and Khata Meetha. The veteran actor was diagnosed with cancer one year ago, and gave a tough fight to it.
Not only in Hindi films, but Atul Parchure was a famous name in Marathi cinema as well. According to reports, he passed away at the age of 57. While his family has not issued any official statement about his death, several Marathi news outlets have reported the same. Atul was battling cancer.
Atul was working on a Marathi play with Marathi actor, Jaywant Wadkar. The two were childhood friends. He revealed that they were rehearsing for the play together, but it was five days ago that Atul was hospitalised.
Atul Parchure, who made people of all ages laugh with his comic timing, has been through the toughest times. In a 2023 interview with a YouTube channel, Atul shared that he was diagnosed with a 5 cm tumour in 2022. Atul revealed that he was on a trip to Australia and New Zealand, after he celebrated his 25 years of marriage.
Atul added that it was during the trip that he wasn't able to eat anything and started feeling nauseous. Atul got himself checked, and they asked him to get ultrasonography. Recalling the doctors' reaction and how they informed him about a cancerous tumour in his liver. He said:
"After visiting many doctors, I was asked to get ultrasonography done. When the doctor did it, I saw fear in his eyes and I felt there was something wrong. I was told I have a tumour about 5 centimeters long in my liver and that it is cancerous."

In the same interview, Atul revealed that his first procedure of treatment went wrong, and his pancreas was affected. The wrong treatment worsened his condition, and he wasn't able to walk. Recalling the toughest phase, he said:
"The wrong treatment actually worsened the condition. I couldn’t even walk. I used to fumble while talking. In such a condition, the doctor asked me to wait for one and a half months. They said if they do the surgery, I’d get jaundice for years and my liver will be watery or I wouldn’t survive. Later, I changed doctors and took proper medication and chemotherapy."
