Currently, she is busy promoting her upcoming film, Tarla, which is a biopic on the iconic food writer, Tarla Dalal. Amid the same, she recently was spotted with the popular Australian Master Chef, Gary Mehigan, and their camaraderie has won lots of applause.
Huma Qureshi’s brief meeting with Gary Mehigan has been grabbing all the headlines ever since the latter displayed his chivalrous side for the actress. For the unversed, Huma met Gary during the promotion of her upcoming film, Tarla. In the video of their interaction, one can see the duo speaking with each other quite fondly. However, it is the moment that Gary politely asked Huma before kissing her that has won the hearts of many of their fans.

As soon as the video of Huma and Gary’s meeting went viral, fans were quick to take note of it and pool in their praises for the Australian chef. Well, certainly Gary’s move of seeking permission from a woman before kissing her was praiseworthy. Taking to the comment section of the post, netizens also expressed their views on the same. While one user wrote, ‘That is how a man should behave’, another one commented, ‘I liked the way he took permission.’
In another interview with Cinema Express, Huma Qureshi opened up on her experience of doing a biopic for the first time in her career. She expressed that presenting herself similar to the real Tarla Dalal was a big deal since the latter had quite a distinct personality. Moreover, she emphasised that she was able to completely let go of her own identity and, in a way merge herself with the character as well. In her words:
“I went for it in a very real, granular manner. I wanted people to see my performance and say ‘Oh that’s not Huma, that’s Tarla’. I think when an actor is able to capture that, then doing a biopic becomes fun.”

Despite having made a name for herself with her impeccable acting talent, Huma Qureshi has still been tinged with the mark of being an outsider in the industry. Speaking about the same in a previous interview with the New Indian Express, Huma revealed that even after charting for so many years, she still has to face a lot of rejection from film offers. Nevertheless, she mentioned that she has the fighting spirit to move on and keep up her fight even after facing the worst.
