Late legendary actor, Irrfan Khan was honoured with the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) Award for his brilliant performance in the film, Angrezi Medium, at the 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards. The award ceremony is going to be telecasted on April 11, 2021. To receive the prestigious award, it was Irrfan's elder son, Babil Khan, was left super-emotional at the ceremony after watching a monologue of his father on the giant screen at the event. The moment had left most of the people at the ceremony emotional, and it was Raj Kummar Rao, who couldn't hold his tears back and had cried after looking at Irrfan's monologue.

For the unversed, Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in March 2018 and had left for London for his treatment. The actor had returned later in February 2019 to shoot his film, Angrezi Medium, and had flown back to London for another surgery. After which, he had returned to India in September 2019 and on April 28, 2020, the actor was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital due to a colon infection. Irrfan was kept in ICU, and sadly, on April 29, 2020, the actor had breathed his last and had passed away.
Before the official telecast of the 66th Filmfare Award, which were held recently, the winners' list and some videos have been shared by the makers on social media. After which, the anticipation and excitement in viewers for the award ceremony is at the peak. The most important moment that people are anxiously waiting to see on April 11, 2021, is none other than late legendary actor, Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan, accepting the iconic black lady on his father's behalf. However, some clips of the precious moment already on social media, which has made Irrfan's billions of fans super-excited. Among all the clips and pictures, one clip in which Babil can be seen accepting the award and getting emotional after a warm hug from Ayushmann Khurrana and Raj Kummar Rao is going viral on the internet. On March 28, 2021, Babil Khan had taken to his IG handle and had shared a memorable video with his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, in which his mother could be seen helping him getting dressed up as he had worn his father's clothes for the Filmfare Awards. Along with the video, Babil had penned a heart-melting caption, in which he had revealed the reason why he hadn't prepared the award acceptance speech and had clearly stated that he doesn't feel it's his place to say anything on his father's behalf. His caption could be read as "Mamma dressing me up - So in my little speech while accepting baba's awards from @jaideepahlawat @rajkummar_rao @ayushmannk I basically said 'this is not my place to say anything. People always say that you cannot fit into your father's shoes, but at least I can fit into his clothes.'"

Going further in his note, Babil Khan had also revealed the interesting story behind his clothes at the 66th Filmfare Awards and had stated that his father had always hated ramp walks. Still, he had decided to break out of his comfort zone with these clothes. Thus, Babil had done the same and had broken his own comfortable space. He had penned, "I just want to show all my gratitude to the audience and our industry because of the warmth and love that you have hugged our family with, and all I can really say is that you and I will make this journey together and take Indian cinema to new heights, I promise. The story behind the clothes was that my father hated participating in fashion shows and ramp walks but he did it in these same clothes in order to continuously break out of his comfort zone. That is exactly what I was doing last night, tearing though into new spaces that I'm uncomfortable with."
