Babil Khan Reveals His 'Baba', Irrfan Wanted To Protect Him From Adversities In Industry, 'Saha Hai'

Babil Khan, son of late actor, Irrfan Khan, has mostly spent time with his baba on the sets of his movies. Babil, who has always been active on social media, shares anecdotes about his father. He has often said that his dad has never taught him acting, but has given him the most valuable life lessons. The loss of his baba in 2020 changed Babil overnight into a new leaf, and the actor, in the latest interview, revealed how Irrfan always wanted to protect him from the adversities of the film industry.

Babil Khan shares how Irrfan Khan was protective of him and did not want  his son to face humiliation

Babil, who had a very cinematic upbringing, revealed in a recent interview with Instant Bollywood that there was a time when he was scared of his baba. He believed that he did not want to become an actor, and had many thoughts in his mind about whether he wanted to become an actor or not. Babil remembered the humiliation his baba had to undergo and shared:

"Unhone saha hai na humiliation. Jab woh aaye thei unke liye jagah nai thi industry mei. Unhone bahut mehnat se apni jagah banayi. Toh unko batana ki mujhko actor banna hai as a parent unke liye bahut difficult hoga na. Yaar kaise he will go through what I have been through? Parents always try to protect. Woh apne bacho ko hamesha un adversities se protect karne ki koshish karte hai jin adversities ne unhe banaya hai. Yeh sochke."

Babil Khan on dealing with grief after Irrfan Khan's demise

Babil, earlier, in a conversation with the Lallantop, revealed how he processed grief when his dad passed away in 2020. For him, it was not easy, as he had to face a lot of backlash. Babil had revealed that when his baba passed away, he wasn’t ready for the spotlight that followed. In his words:

"But what struck me was how people came out to bid him farewell—risking Covid just to say goodbye. That kind of love made me feel I owed something back. His loss wasn’t just ours, it belonged to everyone.”

To cope up with the loss, Babil used to share memories of his dad on his social media handle and realised that his fans connected with all the memories. However, the actor was also accused of using his dad's demise as a means to take a step ahead in his career. Babil did admit that it did hurt him when people said that he was exploiting the fact that his baba had passed away. He felt that if he had done the same, he would not still be giving auditions and believed in spreading love that his baba received.
