Babil Khan is the son of the late actor, Irrfan Khan and his wife, Sutapa Sikdar. Following his father's footsteps, the actor made his Bollywood debut with the film, Qala in 2022. Later, Babil worked in popular films like The Umesh Chronicles and a web series, The Railway Men. The actor often shares lesser-known anecdotes about his parents. And now, Babil shared how his mother, Sutapa Sikdar is their family's biggest critic. For the unversed, Babil's father and the talented actor, Irrfan Khan left for the heavenly abode on April 29, 2020, due to cancer.
In a candid conversation with Humans of Bombay, Babil Khan opened up about his mother, Sutapa Sikdar and revealed that she is the biggest critic in their family. Reflecting on the same, the actor recalled an old incident and elaborated how she strongly critiqued his late father, Irrfan Khan's performance in the 2012 released film, Paan Singh Tomar. For the unversed, Irrfan received a national award for his mind-blowing performance in the same film. Mentioning how Sutapa had '17 pages of criticism' on Irrfan's performance, Babil said:
"My mom is very critical. Like, when she saw papa's Paan Singh Tomar, she had 17 pages of criticism. So, I can't stay in the room where mom is watching my film."

Further, in the same conversation, Babil revealed how his mother, Sutapa reacted to his performance in his debut film, Qala. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that his mother gave a very stern response to his film. In his words:
"She said, 'You did good for the first time.' That's all she said."
In the same interview, Babil opened up about his idea of love and reflected on his parents' equation. The actor mentioned that growing up, he never witnessed his parents' physical affection as they were also busy in their respective lives. Adding that Irrfan and Sutapa were 'bestest friends', Babil said that his parents had great respect for each other. Calling his mother a 'queen', Babil said:
"My definition of love is to surrender to the innate quality of me and you. My parents were bestest friends in the world, but baba was way too busy and mom was always with me. So, I didn't see the physical affection growing up, but I saw the respect that they had as best friends. And I saw my mother raise me, and my mother is a queen."

Earlier, in an interview with Mid Day, Sutapa Sikdar opened up about her beautiful equation with her late husband, Irrfan Khan. Talking about the same, she mentioned that their marriage was more of a partnership. Adding how they started their journey as friends, Sutapa said that they remained friends till Irrfan's last breath.
