Bollywood and parties go hand-in-hand! And if the occasion is as grand as Diwali, we can surely expect some big parties. The Bachchan family of Bollywood is quite famous for their extravagant Diwali parties. With celebrities dressed in their best to the late-night card parties and lots of glamour and décor, the nation waits to witness Bachchan’s Diwali party. Diwali 2021 is no different for the Bachchans as the entire clan gathered together to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
While Bachchan’s Diwali bash is quite famous, for the past few years, we have been witnessing them going low-key with the celebrations. In 2018, the Bachchan clan had opted for a quiet Diwali celebration at home due to the demise of Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s father-in-law. Amitabh Bachchan had shared some glimpses of the Diwali puja at their residence with his wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Big B had tweeted:
“Shubham karoti kalyanam, aarogyam dhan sampadaa, shatru buddhi vinaashaya, deep jyoti namostutey. Diwali greetings of love and happiness.”
On November 4, 2021, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aaradhya Bachchan and Agastya Nanda were spotted by the paps as they arrived at their bungalow, Pratiksha. All the family members were dressed in gold and white ethnic outfits as they came together for the Diwali Puja.
In the pictures, we can see Big B sitting in his car with his wife, Jaya and grandson, Agastya, as they were spotted leaving Pratiksha after the Laxmi puja. While Jaya donned an off white saree with a pink border, on the other hand, the grandfather-grandson duo twinned in a white kurta. Moreover, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked stunning in her silver outfit and with her hair left open. Her daughter, Aaradhya looked adorable in ethnic wear and her husband, Abhishek Bachchan opted for a white kurta with a golden print.
On November 13, 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had gone down memory lane and had recalled the Diwali celebrations when Shweta Bachchan was a kid. In the monochrome picture, while Big B had looked handsome in a white kurta, Mrs Bachchan looked alluring in a beautiful saree. The couple was all smiles, lighting the phuljhadi with Shweta standing by their side, lost in her own thoughts. Big B tweeted:
“Deepawali kia nek badhai aur shubhkaamnayein. Sukh, shanti, samridhi aur apaar sneh.”
In 2019, the Bachchans had hosted a grand Diwali party at their home, Jalsa which was attended by the biggies from B-town. Giving a sneak peek of the décor at Jalsa, Big B had tweeted:
“On this auspicious day and week of Deepawali... love and affection from our abode JALSA... and prayers for fulfilment, peace and prosperity.”
A few days after their Diwali party in 2019, Mr Bachchan had treated his fans with some unseen pictures of the family including wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, at their home, Jalsa. Sharing the pictures, where the Bachchan family could be seen lighting up the diyas, Amitabh Bachchan had written:
"On the auspicious festive week our love and prayers to all... Iss shubh avsar par humari shubhkamnayein."
A family picture of the Bachchan clan had gone viral on social media from their 2019 Diwali celebrations. The proud seniors, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were seen posing with their children, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Nikhil Nanda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, grandchildren, Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan. Jaya, Shweta, Navya and Agastya had opted for Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla ensembles for the Diwali bash. While Aishwarya, Shweta and Aaradhya had twinned in red, Nikhil had opted for a black suit and the rest of the family had looked like a vision in white.
Happy Diwali to the Bachchans!
