Bae Suzy is termed as ‘Nation’s First Love’

The South Korean actress, model, and singer Bae Su Ji, aka Bae Suzy or Suzy, is one of the most prominent faces from Hallyu. She debuted into showbiz in 2010 with K-pop group, Miss A. Eventually, she worked in some of the notable Korean dramas such as Uncontrollably Fond, Vagabond, Doona, and While You Were Sleeping, among others. Suzy is widely recognised for her stunning looks, earning her the title of ‘Nation's First Love’, a distinction that only a handful of Korean celebrities have. With her charming personality, it's no surprise that even fellow stars have, time and again, expressed their admiration for her.

Bae Suzy’s relationship with Lee Min Ho

Along with a very successful professional front, Bae Suzy also had quite an interesting love life. She has had an interesting love life with handsome ex-boyfriends and rumoured romances. In 2015, the Korean media outlet, Dispatch revealed photos of her and her then-boyfriend, Lee Min Ho, while they spent time in London.

The reports disclosed several details pertaining to their budding romance back then. Lee Min Ho and Bae Suzy’s agencies confirmed that the two Hallyu superstars were actually dating. Unfortunately, it did not last long, and they parted ways in 2017. Their agencies announced that due to their busy schedules, Min Ho and Suzy had decided to break up.

However, reports went rife in March 2018, that Suzy had found a new home for her heart. She started dating the famous ‘Grim Reaper’, Lee Dong Wook, from the popular K-drama, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. They publicly announced their relationship via their agencies because the paparazzi had already acquired photos of them together.

It was previously reported that Suzy had a crush on Lee Dong Wook even before they started dating. During an appearance on SBS's Strong Heart in 2012, she mentioned that Lee Dong Wook was her ideal type, which made fans go wild. When the couple officially started dating, it was believed that Suzy might have made the first move and successfully won over Dong Wook.  Their romantic relationship caused a wave of reactions, with many people admiring the good-looking couple and predicting a happy future for them.

Netizens called Bae Suzy a ‘serial dater’ and ‘Taylor Swift of South Korea’ as she broke up with two men in less than a year

After dating for only four months, the couple ended their relationship. Suzy's agency, JYP, explained that the split was due to their busy schedules. However, some netizens criticised Suzy, labelling her a ‘serial dater’ and ‘the Taylor Swift of South Korea’ due to her two breakups in less than a year. Nevertheless, her fans defended her, pointing out that having only two confirmed relationships since her debut in 2010 is hardly a string of heartbreaks.
