Bala Expresses CONCERN For His Ex-Wife As Air India Flight CRASHED On Her Medical College

Indian Film actor, Bala expressed his concern over the safety of his ex-wife, Elizabeth Udayan, as an Air India flight crashed at her medical college.

In the decade-long history of Indian aviation, the Air India plane, which crashed within seconds of taking off, is considered the deadliest and most unfortunate. The plane had 242 passengers, including two pilots and ten cabin crew, out of which 241 passed away at the time the plane crashed into the BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Actor, Bala, whose ex-wife, Dr Elizabeth Udayan, was also working there, expressed concern over her safety.

The crash has left every Indian and people across the world in deep pain. The Dreamliner crashing into a medical college, where students were having their lunch in the mess, adds another layer to the unfortunate incident. Bala also took it to his Instagram handle and penned a note for his ex-wife, Elizabeth, burying all the past hatchets. On behalf of himself and his wife, Kokila, Bala penned: 

"Shocking news Ahmedabad plane crash. How can we even console ourselves. My deepest condolences. Doctor Elizabeth, my prayers r always with you, be safe. Seek gods blessings. Bala Kokila."

For the unversed, Bala was married to Dr. Elizabeth in 2021. However, no one knows when they parted ways, but they hinted it wasn't an amicable divorce. Later, Bala got married to Kokila in 2024. 

Elizabeth marked herself safe from the tragic airplane crash

Elizabeth marked herself safe on Facebook after the crash and revealed that many of her colleagues and students at the college-cum-hospital were dead or injured. In her short post, Elizabeth recalled how a plane crashed at her college and asked people to pray for the people, who are affected. She wrote:

"Plane crash at our college , please pray for those family's affected by these disaster. I am safe but many of our colleagues and mbbs students died and injured. Please pray for them."

In the afternoon on June 12, 2025, a video of the aircraft flying low and trying its best to gain altitude surfaced on the internet. In the clip, the plane was seen slamming to the ground and exploding in a massive ball of fire at 1:38 p.m. For those who don't know, the aircraft was also loaded with fuel as it was flying to London, which included a lot of distance. 

Who is the sole survivor of the Air India crash?

Ramesh Vishwas Kumar is the 38-year-old British Indian who was among the 242 people onboard the ill-fated Air India Flight AI 171, which crashed seconds after takeoff. It has killed over 200 people. Ramesh was seated in seat 11A, which was located right behind the emergency exit of the flight.
