Often referred to as the chocolate by of the Telly world, Barun Sobti has been garnering a lot of limelight for his tremendous performance in the crime thriller, Asur 2. The handsome actor is also getting a lot of applause for his latest series, Kohrra, which also stars Harleen Sethi, Rachel Shelley, Suvinder Vicky and Varun Badola.
In a recent conversation with News 18, Barun Sobti reveals why it is difficult for a television actor to get a film or web series. Barun reveals though he is not at the receiving end, but he still knows the discrimination faced by many telly actors and said:
“TV actors have to work harder to even audition for a big project. I can say this objectively because I’ve been around for a while now.”

In the same interview, Barun also revealed the sort of discussions that happen in the conference room regarding telly actors and shared:
“A lot of producers are my friends and I know exactly the kind of conversations that go on in conference rooms. And people [condescendingly] say things like, ‘Oh, this guy is actually from TV!’ Thankfully, they don’t say about me anymore but such conversations about TV actors still happen.”
Barun, who made his acting debut in 2009 has come a long way in the industry and is in a comfortable position in his career. Barun too had his share of insecurities in his career. Reflecting on the same, he stated:
“You do get impatient but then, you can’t act on impatience because it isn’t the kind of virtue you want to stand for. Things happen sooner to some people and later to some. You’ve to believe in yourself. Luck, I think, plays a big part as well.”

Barun Sobti is one of the top notched actors in television as well as the OTT world. The actor is known for working in super hit shows like Tanhaiyan, Dill Mill Gayye, Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? and others. On the personal front, Barun got married to his ladylove, Pashmeen Manchanda in 2010. The couple embraced parenthood for the first time in 2019 and welcomed a baby girl, Sifat. The actor and his wife, Pashmeen welcomed their second child, a baby boy, in April 2023.
