During this season, the audience has seen the Anupamaa actor playing in a dignified way. Often, people criticised him for playing backfoot. However, when Gaurav highlighted his wife’s decision of not having kids on the show, Bigg Boss 19, it became a wide topic of discussion. Now, in a recent interview, Gaurav Khanna opened up about the same.

In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Gaurav Khanna opened up about the most-talked-about topic surrounding his personal life. For the unversed, Gaurav Khanna has been married to Akanksha Chamola for 9 years. However, the couple has not yet welcomed a child. On the show, Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav told Mridul Tiwari that he loves kids, but as Akanksha doesn’t want to have kids, they have not welcomed a child. Speaking about the same, Gaurav said that he has happily agreed with his wife’s decision. He added that if 10 to 15 people start thinking like him and support their wives, the world around could be a little better. He was quoted as saying:

"Why do we always think that only our wives should support us? We are men. We should support women more. And I am very happy that this question has been raised. Because if my wife is not ready for something, then I am not ready either. So we don’t want kids. She doesn’t want it and I agree with that. I am very happy. My love for my wife is much more than any other choice. So I feel, if 10-15 more people start thinking like this, then the world can be a little better."

Before entering the controversial show, Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan. During the conversation, Gaurav said that he respects his wife’s decision not to have kids. He highlighted that if a woman is not ready, she shouldn’t be forced. The Anupamaa actor shared that his wife, Akanksha, loves kids, but has her own reasons to not embrace motherhood. He was quoted as saying:

"I want to respect that decision. It’s been nine years since our marriage. She doesn’t want kids. I have to respect that decision. If a woman is not ready, then you should not force her. But yes, I love kids. She loves kids, but she has her reasons for not…because absolutely, a mother’s frame of mind is absolutely essential for the child. Ma, ma hoti hai yaar."

Akanksha Chamola shares why she does not want to have kids

Akanksha Chamola entered the Bigg Boss 19 house during the Family Week. Akanksha opened up about the reason behind her decision not to have kids when she was having a conversation with wildcard contestant, Malti Chahar and stand-up comedian, Pranit More. She revealed that she has her own ambitions and doesn’t think she is very responsible for embracing motherhood. She was quoted as saying:

"Mere bahut saare reasons hain. I don't think I can be that responsible because yaar, bacha paida karna halwa banana nahi hota hai, bahut badi responsibility hai. Mujhe nahi lagta ki main wo job/duty, jo bhi bolo, utne acche se justify kar sakti hoon. At this age, at any age, you have to give your 100%. Haan, mujhe apna career banana hai, mere ambitions bahut saare hain, ab log usko selfish bole, jo bhi bole, wo unke upar hai."
