Bengali Singer Anupam Roy Set To Marry For Third Time, Months After His 2nd Wife, Piya Tied The Knot

Bengali composer-singer, Anupam Roy is one of the most prominent names in Tollywood. He rose to immense popularity with his debut songs, Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao and Benche Thakar Gaan, which were released in 2010 as the soundtrack of the film, Autograph. Anupam made his musical debut in Bollywood with the 2015 Shoojit Sircar film, Piku. In his personal life, the singer got married twice. Much is not known about Anupam’s first wife, as he got married to her before he stepped into the world of glitz and glamour. Moreover, he tied the knot for the second time in 2015 with Piya Chakraborty, who is a mental health activist and social worker. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last long, and they parted ways in 2021.

Anupam Roy is all set to tie the knot for the third time

As per several recent reports, Anupam Roy is all set to tie the knot for the third time. The singer will be getting married to Prashmita Paul on March 2, 2024, in a legal wedding in the presence of their near and dear ones at a club in South Kolkata. The two singers started dating a year ago, and now they have decided to their relationship to the next level. Anupam, in an interview with OTT Play, revealed details about his marriage and said:

"It is going to be an intimate wedding with just families and close friends on March 2. It will be a registry wedding."

Anupam Roy reveals his thoughts about his past

In the same interview, when the singer was asked about his past relationship, Anupam gave a straight answer and said that he did not want to delve into it. He further added that he is going to start a new life and believes that the duo’s near and dear ones are surely going to wish them well. Anupam said:

"Nobody likes to delve into the past. No one does. We are starting a new life, and that’s all. We know our near and dear ones will wish us well and that’s great."

Anupam Roy and Prashmita Paul’s love story

For those who don’t know, Prashmita Paul rose to popularity with her song, Sajna, which was later featured in the popular Bengali film, Bojhena Shey Bojhena. She has lent her voice to several other songs such as Hote Paare Na, Klanto Mon, Kontho, Shudhu Tomari Jonyo and others. As per reports, Prashmita met Anupam in a studio, and gradually fell in love. Once they understood that they liked each other and even their respective families had no objection to their marriage, they decided to take the next step.

Prashmita Paul shares why they wanted a low-key wedding ceremony

In the same interview with OTT Play, Prashmita shared why the two did not opt for a lavish wedding ceremony. She mentioned that both of them did not want a loud affair, and wanted to keep it simple. The singer also shared that she knows that they will be trolled in whatever they do, but it won’t affect them. She said:

“Neither of us wanted any loud affair. My friends and family members will be there. There will be relatives, who live outside Kolkata, who will come over. These days no one is spared. I feel as long as we are happy, trolling will not affect us."

Anupam Roy’s ex-wife, Piya Chakraborty married Parambrata Chatterjee 

For those who don’t know, Anupam Roy’s second wife, Piya Chakraborty, recently tied the knot with acclaimed Bengali actor, Parambrata Chatterjee in November 2023. The two had a low-key wedding ceremony and they started their forever journey amidst the presence of their near and dear ones.
