Bhagyashree and Salman Khan were one of the most-loved on-screen pairs back in the 90s due to their amazing film, Maine Pyar Kiya. The film still invokes a lot of emotions in the hearts of their fans, who love to re-watch it anytime. For the unversed, this was Bhagyashree’s debut film, and even today, her fans still recognise her by her screen name, ‘Suman’. And now, the actress talked about her friendship and equation with the film’s co-star, Salman Khan.
For the unversed, in her personal life, Bhagyashree is married to Himalaya Dassani and the duo is blessed with kids. In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Bhagyashree opened up about her friendship with Salman Khan and shared that their equation goes back a long time. She added that Salman was the first one to know about her relationship with Himalaya. The actress mentioned that her husband and Salman had a common friend. Sharing how the latter hilariously teased her over her hushed-about romance, Bhagyashree said:
“Himalaya ji's friend and Salman's friend, they were common friends, and Salman came to know about Himalaya ji before the entire world knew. So he was the first person that came to know. And we were shooting for 'Dil Deewana Bin Sajnaa Ke' and we were in Ooty for about a month and Salman comes and starts singing 'Dil Deewana Bin Sajna Ke' in my ear and that particular day we had press on the set and everything and I'm wondering 'Salman's never behaved like this.' And I said 'Salman just behave yourself what's wrong with you?"

Speaking along the same lines, Bhagyashree added how Salman’s changed behaviour made her aware about the actor already knowing about her love affair with Himalaya. She added being pretty conscious about her co-star being aware of her relationship and was desirous of hushing it all up. Crediting Salman for being there with her and Himalaya up till their wedding, Bhagyashree said:
“I think that suddenly changed the equation because then I got really comfortable with him and whenever there was a tension at home or problem at home or even when we decided to get married, Salman was the first person to be there and was the last person to leave.”
Previously, while speaking to the YouTube channel, WildFilms India, Bhagyashree shared an anecdote about her friendship with Salman Khan. The actress mentioned a statement about him that stayed with her always and revealed how Salman didn’t want nice girls to fall for him. Explaining the actor’s reason for such an unusual choice for his personal life, Bhagyashree recalled Salman telling her about his inability to stay put with just one woman in his life.

In an earlier interview with Rashmi Uchil, Bhagyashree revealed an interesting backstory from the shooting of her debut film, Maine Pyar Kiya with Salman Khan. She mentioned that she was shooting for the film after her marriage, and was in fact 5 months pregnant. Bhagyashree remembered Salman critiquing her for gaining fat after her wedding, without knowing that she was pregnant. In her words:
“When ace photographer Gautam Rajdakshya did the photoshoot with Salman and me for the posters of Maine Pyar Kiya, I was 5 months pregnant. No one knew. I remember Salman telling me, 'Shaadi ke baad moti ho gayee ho."
