Maine Pyaar Kiya fame, Bhagyashree hails from the Marathi royal family of Sangali in Maharashtra. Her debut in the Bollywood industry with the romantic flick, Maine Pyaar Kiya had made her an overnight sensation. Her sizzling on-screen chemistry with Salman Khan was beyond words, and every director was keen to sign her. However, leaving behind superstardom and the world of glitz and glamour, Bhagyashree had done something unthinkable in the 90s. She had decided to live a happy married life as a homemaker with the man of her dreams, Himalay Dassani.
The much-in-love couple is currently basking the love and respect of their millions of fans by appearing in the reality show, Smart Jodi. In the show, Bhagyashree had unfolded many unknown aspects of her life and had bared her heart out in front of the audience. From falling in love with her school friend, Himalay to running away from her royal palace to tie the marital knot with him, the actress had always listened to her heart. In a recent promo of Smart Jodi, the actress finally revealed why she made Himalay say, ‘I Love You’ to her.

A few hours ago, the official IG handle of Star Plus released a promo of the show, Smart Jodi. In the video, we can see Bhagyashree and Himalay stepping down memory lane and revisiting their school to live the precious meet cute memories again. The video starts with Himalay untying his darling wife’s blindfold, and then the duo gets nostalgic while spending time in the school cafeteria, classrooms, library and corridors, the places where their childhood friendship had blossomed into something more. Recalling how she had fallen in love, Bhagyashree said:
“Saari school ki yaadien tazaa ho gayi. Padhai karte waqt pehle ham dost baney. Aur dosti kab pyaar meh baadal gayi pata v nahi chala.”
Further in the video, Himalay recreated those cute moments and proposed to her with a rose. Bhagyashree could be seen planting a sweet kiss on his cheeks. Her loving hubby also made a heart shape with sauce on the sandwich and relived every ‘Dosti Ki Hai Nibhani Toh Padegi Hi’ moment. On the stage of Smart Jodi, Bhagyashree finally opened up about her insecurities and revealed that she was scared to lose him after passing out from school, so she made him confess his feelings to her. In her words:
“School chodhne k baad agar alag alag college meh gaye toh ham ek dusre ko miss karenge, zindagi bhar alag ho jayenege. And I think that’s why I made him say I love you.”

Earlier, in a candid chat with the Hindustan Times, Bhagyashree had mentioned the real reason behind taking a hiatus from the showbiz. Revealing the reason, the actress had stated that she was suffering from a medical condition during one of her shoots and reportedly could not move her right hand. After which, the expert doctors had suggested surgery, but Bhagyashree had taken the path of self-healing. It reportedly took her a year to recover but meanwhile, she had gained expertise in the field of health and fitness. She had said:
“During the course of the shooting for my television show ‘Laut Aao Trisha’, I couldn’t move my right hand and it took me a year to recover from it. The doctors had suggested surgery but I was really scared of it. I self-healed, which came as a shock and surprise to them. I realised that a simplistic way of living can help one heal within their home.”
On the professional front, Bhagyashree has made a comeback to the screens with the film, Thalaivi opposite Kangana. She has also played the role of a mother in Prabhas starrer, Radhe Shyam.
