Bharti Singh And Haarsh Reveal 'Surviving Loans', While Discussing Indian TV's Struggles With Budget

TV couple, Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa is well-known for their instant wit and comedy. In a recent episode of the duo’s podcast, a popular young actress from Indian Television, Reem Shaikh, was seen having a serious discussion with the TV couple. The trio discussed how the Indian Television industry has been going through some financial constraints for some time now. The couple also revealed that they are surviving on loans due to the same. For the unversed, Bharti and Reem are sharing screens in the TV show, Laughter Chefs.

Haarsh Limbachiyaa feels that Indian television is struggling due to budget issues

In the episode, Haarsh opened up about how he feels that Indian television is going through some budget issues. Citing examples from the recent past, Haarsh also shared that few big shows like Laughter Chefs are able to sustain themselves. Reem also shared her experiences on the same. She revealed how, after her hit show, Tujhse Hai Raabta, and two popular soap operas, she thought of getting paid Rs. 1.5-2 lakh, but to her utter dismay, the budgets got cut down. She shared how it is due to the budget issue, that after delivering many hit shows, she is not getting paid enough.

Further in the interview, Haarsh and Bharti also shared their experience on the same. Haarsh shared how people think that he and Bharti must be earning as they host respective shows, but it is not the reality. He also shared how they are surviving on loans. Bharti also added in a joking way that whenever a milkman knocks on their door, they think him to be a secret agent who has come to take back the loan. Addressing how budget cuts have affected their lives, Haarsh said:

"We face a similar problem. People see me host a show on one channel and Bharti hosting a show on another channel, people think I would be charging Rs. 20 lakhs per day, Bharti would be getting Rs. 50 lakhs per day. That’s not true. We are surviving on loans, and if we don’t take the work that comes to us, somebody else will."

For the uninitiated, Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa first met on the sets of Comedy Circus in 2009. In Comedy Circus, Bharti was one of the contestants, and Haarsh was the scriptwriter of the show. The duo’s chemistry started with friendship which turned into love with time. On December 3, 2017, the couple tied the knot after a few years of dating.

On April 3, 2022, the duo welcomed their first child. It was a baby boy. The couple named him, Laksh Singh Limbaachiya. The duo also gave a sweet nickname to their son, Gola. On the professional front, Haarsh has been a writer in shows like Comedy Circus Ke Tansen, Comedy Nights Bachao, and Comedy Nights Live. The duo co-hosted many shows including Khatra Khatra Khatra and Hum Tum Aur Quarantine and Dance Deewane Season 3.
