For the uninitiated, Bharti Singh was born on July 3, 1984, in Amritsar into a middle-class family. Unfortunately, her father died when she was just 2 years old, after which her family went into poverty. After the unfortunate demise of her father, Bharti's mother raised her and two more kids, Dhiraj and Pinky single-handedly. To raise her children, Bharti's mother, Kamla Singh worked as a maid and even cleaned toilets.

It was a heartbreaking phase for Kamla Singh and her three kids, as she used to feed them with people's leftovers. As they grew up, Bharti and her siblings worked in a factory where they used to stitch blankets. Once, in an old interview with a leading news portal, Bharti Singh recalled the heartbreaking time when her mother used to bring leftovers from the family where she used to work as a maid. The comedian shared that someone's leftovers were fresh food for her family. Opening up about the same, she said:

"Mummy doosron ke ghar kaam karti thi main baithi rehti thi. Toilet saaf karti thi. Phir wo sabzi bachi rehti thi to bolte the le jaana bach gayi hai. Unki baasi sabzi hamari fresh ho jaati thi. Hamara poora din ban jaata tha."

Popular comedian, Sudesh Lehri discovered Bharti Singh during NCC Camps, and it changed the course of her entire life

Only some people are aware of the fact that Bharti Singh used to give a lot of auditions at NCC Camps. During one of her auditions at the NCC Camps, iconic comedian, Sudesh Lehri discovered her talent and cast her in a play. It was a major break for Bharti as it gave her the much-needed opportunity to showcase her rare talent. After this, Bharti's talent crossed paths with Kapil Sharma, who was so impressed with her talent that he advised her to give auditions for The Great India Laughter Challenge. She was selected for the show and finished as the second runner-up. 

When Bharti called herself a '60 Rs ka bacha', she recalled the story of her birth

Once, in an old interview, Bharti Singh opened up about the struggles she faced in her life and shared how she never disturbs anyone. The comedian shared an interesting anecdote related to it that speaks volumes about her mother, Kamla Singh's strength. The comedian shared that her mother delivered her as a child alone. Recalling the incident, Bharti added that her mother called a lady to cut the umbilical cord and gave her Rs. 60 for the same. She said:

"Mai ne bola tha mai kisi ko tang nahi karugi kyunki mai ne apni mummy ko dekha tha. Unhone tang nai kra kyunki mai meri mummy ka khud ka paida kiya hua bacha hoon. Vo akeli thi, bas vo cord katne ke liye dai ko bulaya tha jisne 60 rupay liye the. Toh mai 60 Rs ka bacha hoon."

The way Bharti Singh has changed her life is truly inspiring, and it's quite understandable, as she is the daughter of a fearsome lady who didn't surrender in front of obstacles.
