Bhuvan Bam is undoubtedly one of the hugely loved YouTubers in India, and he is also currently showing off his acting skills in a few web series and a short film. The talented individual has never missed the chance to win millions of hearts with his content on his comedy channel, BB Ki Vines. However, in those days, while he was riding the ladder of success, he also faced a number of hardships in his family. Amongst them, one problem was his late father's drinking problem.
Now, Bhuvan Bam opened up about dealing with his late father's drinking problem in a candid conversation with We Are Yuvaa (YouTube channel)’s show, Be A Man, Yaar. During his conversation, Bhuvan explained that it was an extremely emotional journey for him while dealing with his father's battle with alcoholism. However, he mentioned that whenever he used to stop his father from doing so, the latter used to show resistance. Bhuvan explained:

“I asked him, ‘Who drinks in the middle of the day? What is the problem? Tell us. We have just cut a cake celebrating 10 million followers, we planned to travel. Then why are you drinking at 12 in the afternoon?’ He replied, ‘I am habitual to this and I want you guys to not intervene. Let me be. I am very happy for all of you, just don’t interfere.’ Simple. I wondered what do I tell after this? I can’t forcefully pull the drink away because he’s my father.”

Bhuvan admitted that the problem sometimes led to domestic turmoil. Elaborating further, the YouTuber shared that his fans used to gather outside his house after watching his content online. However, at the same time, due to his father's drinking problem, chaotic scenes used to occur at home, making him so uncomfortable that he stopped going to the balcony for a long period of time. He explained:
“There was always a queue outside my house and after BB Ki Vines picked up, I stopped going into my balcony. Because there was always be 60-70 people there, be at 2 am or 3 am at night. In between all this, andar kalesh chal rahe hai ghar mein; begging him not to scream, matlab, ghamaasan ghar ke andar.”
The constant domestic chaos led Bhuvan to consider moving out of his home. Unfortunately, just on the day he paid the stamp duty of the new house, his father suffered a brain stroke. Bhuvan also recalled that his father could not recognise him for six to seven months. However, his father eventually recognised him again, and for the next two years, he abstained from drinking. Later, Bhuvan lost both his parents during Covid-19 in 2021. He shared:
“The day I paid the stamp duty of his new house, my father had a brain stroke. At the time, my world was shattered and I was learning how to live again without them.”

On the work front, in January 2023, Bhuvan made his OTT debut with Disney + Hotstar's Taaza Khabar, co-starring Shriya Pilgaonkar, J. D. Chakravarthy, Deven Bhojani, Prathamesh Parab, Nitya Mathur, and Shilpa Shukla, among others. In the same month, he was also seen in Amazon miniTV's Rafta Rafta opposite Srishti Rindani. Recently, at a Mumbai event, he invited the paps to Taaza Khabar's Season 2 Premiere.
