A report by PTI revealed more than 40 lakh people from different walks of life took the first holy dip. Now, a video has gone viral where Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates was seen enjoying India's ancient cultural and religious traditions at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to experience the Maha Kumbh.
Reportedly, more than 40 lakh people have taken the first holy dip. Amid this, a video has gone viral where one of the world's richest man, Bill Gates, was spotted at Kashi Vishwanath Mandir for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Now, a report by HT claims that the clip is old and has been making waves on social media since December 2024. It was shared online with claims that Bill Gates was seen at the holy place of Kashi. There is no proof to claim that the billionaire visited the Kashi temple or Prayagraj. Evidences reveal that the person is just a resemblance of Gates.
The viral clip showcasing Bill was shared by millions online. The clip has been doing rounds before the Maha Kumbh Mela started. The founder of Microsoft has not even shared any social media updates about the same. It looks strange as he is known to document his trips abroad.
The Kumbh Mela takes place on the 15th day of Shukla Paksha, which takes place in the Hindu holy calendar month of Paush. Now, Steve Jobs's widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, who is an American billionaire businesswoman, executive, and philanthropist, has been in Prayagraj since January 11, 2024. She has come to the ashram with her guru, Swami Kailashnand Giri. Bill Gates is one of the global personalities who is in India during the auspicious Maha Kumbh Mela.
Hollywood stars like Richard Gere, David Lynch and Tibetan guru, Dalai Lama have also attended earlier Maha Kumbhs. As per a report by Outlook, Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ravi Kishan are most likely to attend the festival that has an aura of its own.

The Mahakumbh Mela, which would be 45 days long, has already started on January 13, 2025, and will continue until February 26, 2025. The UP government reportedly expects around 400 million visitors to attend the spiritual festival. UP's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, also said in a press statement that Rs. 2 lakh crore would be generated in government revenues that would aid artisans, self-help groups, restaurant owners, and local vendors. Even PM Modi had tweeted about the Mahakumbh representing India's eternal spiritual heritage with the celebration of harmony and faith. His tweet read:

Reportedly famous devotional singer, Anup Jalota along with Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Hariharan, Mohit Chauhan, Shaan, Hans Raj Hans, and Maithili Thakur will be taking the stage at the Maha Kumbh Mela and would be performing.
