Bollywood actresses cannot be friends, and many B-town actresses have proved this. While they act like BFFs in front of the camera, however, as soon as the flashes are off, they are ready to lock horns. In the entertainment world, where there is neck-throat competition, catfights are a normal thing.
While some are open about their hatred, others try to keep mum. One such catfight happened during the making of Abbas-Mustan’s film, Ajnabee in 2001. It was the leading ladies of the film, Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor, who didn’t gel up from day one. Their tiff became public, with Kareena reportedly calling Bipasha names, and soon became a topic of discussion. Let us look back at what really happened.
Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor’s tiff began when the former borrowed the latter’s stylist, Vikram Phadnis, without informing her. This didn’t sit well with Kareena and a huge fight broke out after that. It was also reported that the spat had gone so ugly that Kareena had allegedly slapped Bipasha, calling her 'Kaali Billi'. On the other hand, Bipasha had called Kareena's behaviour 'childish' and had said that she never wanted to work with her again.
During an interview with Filmfare in 2002, Kareena spoke about her fight with Bipasha and called the fight Bipasha’s ‘only claim to fame’. Not just this, Kareena also denied calling her uncharitable names and said:
“She (Bipasha Basu) just doesn’t seem to have any confidence in her own talent. In a four-page interview, she spoke about me for three pages. Why not talk about your work? I think her only claim to fame is that she fought with me during Ajnabee over dress designer Vikram Phadnis. She’s given statements that I called her uncharitable names. Now, that’s a figment of her imagination."
Kareena Kapoor once appeared on Rajat Sharma’s show, Aap Ki Adalat. During the episode, Rajat discussed about Kareena’s tiff with Bipasha Basu and the alleged 'kaali billi' statement was brought up. However, the actress did not deny the allegations and instead responded:

Bipasha and Kareena’s fallout made a lot of noise and was a hot topic of discussion everywhere. However, the Bong beauty once talked about the incident and revealed she was unnecessarily pulled into it. In her words:
“I think this is a case of making a mountain out of a molehill. There were never any problems with me. She had some problems with the designer. I don't know why I was pulled in. It was quite childish."
Bipasha Basu made her acting debut in 2001 in the film, Ajnabee, opposite Akshay Kumar, and was later seen in the horror flick, Raaz. However, it was Pooja Bhatt’s erotic thriller, Jism, which turned out to be one of the most popular roles of her career. With films like No Entry, Dhoom 2, Corporate, Race, and many more, Bipasha made a permanent place in people’s hearts.
On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor made her debut in Refugee, opposite Abhishek Bachchan, and since then, there has been no looking back for her. With some stellar performances in Omkara, Jab We Met, Udta Punjab, Chameli, and many more, Kareena’s Tashan couldn’t be tamed by anyone.
