Bobby Deol, lovingly called 'Lord Bobby', has had one rollercoaster of a journey in the film industry. However, he won the hearts of the audience with his stellar performances over the years. And, with Aashram, the actor became one of the most lauded actors. Now, the actor has opened up about how his parent's relationship affected him.

Bobby Deol has often talked about his relationship with his father, Bollywood icon, the 'Heman' of Indian cinema, Dharmendra. The actor did the same in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, where he got candid about his upbringing by his parents, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur. He credited his parents for who he was now and also acknowledged his wife, Tanya Deol's support for him. He stated:

"It's not just my dad's contribution. It's my mother and grandmother, and after I got married, it's been my wife. She has really been there and stood right next to me through good and bad times. It’s just how my mother stood by my dad. My biggest strength is my wife, Tanya. She has believed in me and always told me that I am special."

Bobby Deol opened up about Dharmendra living life to the fullest

Bobby further shared that despite hardships and personal struggles, his Dharmendra lived a satisfying life. During the conversation, Bobby was asked who among the father-son trio, that is, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby himself, had lived their life to the fullest. Responding to the same, the actor stated that it was his father who lived the way that he wanted to.

He further acknowledged how the veteran actor continued to charm his audience even at 89 years old. Bobby reflected on how fans still stand outside Dharmendra's house with his posters and credited him for being a genuine person for the love and respect the entire family had received. He was quoted as saying:

"I think my dad. He has lived the way he wanted to. I think the Frank Sinatra song, 'I did it my way', really suits him. It’s like him, you know. It's just the way my dad has been. From the word go, when he started his work and entered the industry, he had never met people as a star meets somebody. He always met them as a human being. He is connected with them. He has done so much for so many people. He has been very genuine about it from the heart. I think that’s the reason why love for the Deols has existed to date. It’s all thanks to him."

Bobby Deol revealed how Dharmendra taught him to stay grounded

In the same conversation, Bobby Deol revealed how people had tried to keep his father, Dharmendra, in a bubble. He added that if there's one thing he had learned from the veteran actor, it was to stay grounded and be true to himself. He shared how his father never got carried away with what people made him to be and always stayed down-to-earth. He was quoted as saying:

"I have seen my dad surrounded by people who made a bubble around him, as if he were something special. But that’s the one thing I learnt from my dad; he never got carried away with what people made him feel about himself. He always stayed grounded and true to himself."
